I haven't heard alot of good things about the 4th gen. I haven't fired one myself yet tho but I would agree with TenSeven the 357Sig is a better round.

.357sig/10mm if someone else is footing the ammo bill, or they're acceptable for duty use. If not, then the G17 for it's light weight and high round count.

I've heard the same, but was wondering if there has been a sizable amount with this issue (mainly extraction problems) or if its all just hearsay/internet rumors blown out of proportions.

A challenge? No, it's a question. I see people say that the first batch of Gen4 Glocks had issues, but it's been corrected. I haven't seen anything other than a couple forum posts about it from various people who heard it from someone else.
