Reliability observation.

My reliability obresvation in the last 27 years....

1). Smith and Wesson , colt and ruger revolvers are STILL more reliable tha automatics.
2). When reliability is being tested, ONLY STOCK GUNS,OEM FULL CAPACITY MAGAZINES AND QUALITY FACTORY AMMO IS USED.
3). No OUT OF THE BOX 1911 is as reliable as modern FULL size 9mm pistols.
4). Tricked out Glock 40 with some reloads DOES NOT SPEAK OF GLOCK REALIABILITY. NOT AT ALL.
5). 9mm IS MORE RELIABLE IN MOST PISTOLS THAN .40 or .45

Handguns are not particularly complicated devices. While it's very typical for men to become over-interested in equipment for virtually any activity they partake in, in the vast majority of circumstances, the equipment is a very small variable compared to preparation, skill, and practice. Handgun shooting is no different.

Reliability and accuracy have much more to do with the user (and maintenance performed by the user) then the gear.

It's just much easier to talk about gear on the internet then it is about actual shooting

Or more. I had the mainspring tension screw on a 686 walk out almost a full turn after only about 3,000 rounds which caused light strike misfires. I put in it back in using a drop of blue loctite. OTOH, I've never noticed any difference in behavior for it or any of it's brethren in improvised positions.

A ideal shooting position is with the gun straight up and shooting on a square range or even off a rest. Any other position besides this is technically a improvised shooting position, Improvised shooting positions are more prone to cause failures in guns. Any gun doesn't matter how reliable or not they all act differently in different positions/situations thats why I'm saying to run the gun so you can know how gun acts.

Is it possible for a gun that's not too reliable in ideal shooting stance, to become more reliable in improvised shooting position?
