It's just stuff, same as all my other stuff. I won't need any of it when I'm gone and my heirs can do anything they want with what I leave for them. I'm still buying stuff and I will until I die, what happens after I'm done with them, is out of my hands and I have left no instructions for the disposal of my assets other than my general trust and remaining assets.
For those that want to leave particular things to particular people, that's OK also, but I keep it simple, my heirs just get it all and in equal shares, they will have to work out the details themselves.

and since i didn't answer the question, my teen is already into guns and my 1.5 yr old wants to play with them every time i open the safe. we'll see if my 2 month old daughter wants them too. might have to get more guns to spread around. the only one in my family that doesn't want a gun is my wife, but she spends money on purses instead.

I'm 57, son is 27. My son gets my guns. My grand son is 7 months old, when my son goes, the grand son will have a great collection. If I had nobody to leave them to, I would leave a detailed list of my guns and everything else gun related with value for my wife to sell. At least she would have an idea of value and wouldn't get ripped off.

My guns will go to my sister, niece and nephew with the exception of the ones that cannot be legally transferred due to idiotic CA laws. Those get shipped out of CA and sold. I have several conditions for the will stating if anyone disputes the will, they are permanently and completely cut out and their part is re-distributed equally. The guns will not go to anyone who has crappy grades (niece and nephew) or if any of them become screw ups such as drop outs, anger issues or illegal drug users or otherwise douche-esque actions.

Well, I'm not planning on dying anytime soon since I'm only in my 20's, but I figure that I'll be giving guns to children if I have them, nephews and nieces if I don't.

Funny, I was giving this a lot of thought the other day...

What do you have of value that you'd like to pass down to your children and grandchildren? I don't have any family possession that has been handed down thru the generations, and I wanted to be abl to leave my descendants some kind of tangible legacy. Something meaningful, historic, political, and treasured.

And then it hit me: if they believe as I believe, in liberty, individualism, and the ability and responsibility that comes with defending them, I can hand down my guns. I'd love for my descendants to one day say, "wow, this was my great grandfather's gun."

And there will be plenty to hand around lol.

I have thought alot about this , all of my kids are into guns and I have a list of who gets what and why , and I have only one grandson right now and the understanding is if I have no other grandchildren then eventually they are go to him as long as he grows up to be a honest man (fingers crossed ) he is only a year and a half but right now I have an m1 carbine for him and a S&W mod 66 2 1/2 waiting for him and alot more after my kids hand him the rest ...those are my hopes

We don't plan to have kids, so we've decided to pass most of our estate on to our nieces and nephews. We have a couple brothers in law who hunt and appreciate guns, and their sons to as well. We plan to divide our collection of guns up among them. We don't really have anything collectable, but still I'd rather they go to someone in the family who will appreciate them and shoot them rather than just sell them for the money.

Like others said, I buy my guns because I like to shoot them. If my kids don't want them when I go, then they can sell them and get as much money as they can from them.

Unless I pick up some rare piece that's worth some money, I'll let my kids know about that particular gun (or car) and it's history and what it's worth, so at least they're aware of what they can get for it if they decide to sell it. But still, I won't hold it against them if they want to liquidate my stuff or not after I'm gone (guns, real estate, vehicles, etc). Do what you gotta do.

My son got a Colt Trooper from me when he turned 21. My daughter gets a NIB GP100 when she turns 21 (been in my safe for several years already).
I recently took my closest friend and his Son shooting. The boy is 16 and wants to be a Navy Seal. He loved it and can't wait to go again. I have known the kid since he was an infant (Father and I are friends much longer). I think I am going to choose 1 gun to leave him in my will. My kids will get the rest.
