i buy guns to shoot them. When i die, if my kids dont want anything to do with them- then sell em and make some money (hopefully).

I've got several nephews who would be proud to receive any of my firearms when my time comes, just because they were mine. One nephew, in particular, wants them all and he'll probably get most of the long guns and the more special handguns. Might leave the Glocks to the other nephews, who are only mildly interested in firearms.

When I'm gone, somehow, I don't think I'm going to care what happens to my guns.

Granted, though the collection is valuable from a replacement standpoint, I have nothing of any historical or collectible value unless you count the two Calguns.net AR lowers.

i will pass them down to my kids if they want them if not ill sell them. i only have a daughter that is 1 1/2 yrs old and i am gonna try to get her into guns when shes old enough. my first time shooting a pistol was last year when i took my girl out for valentine's day and since then till now i have bought 10 guns. i think i have a problem!!

Ha ha....I had similar thoughts going thru my head over my dad and grand fathers guns now mine. I can't sell most of them but a few I might eventually if I can let go. I have 4 nephews but ones a real twerp....nothing for him. I wrote out a list with the other three each getting various guns....then I find out my niece was top shot in her academy class at quantico a few years back and loves her guns.....rewrite the list!

Well, judging from the size of my sons nerf gun collection and the fact that he asks if he can see my guns at least a couple times a month I'm not too worried no one will want them.

My six year old daughter walked in while I was cleaning my Kimber and said, "Mommy, when you die THAT gun is going to be mine.". I have four pistols, but only one Kimber.

I dont belive that any of my son inlaws or grandsons would be responsible gun owners , I have given my wife the instruction that all of the firearms go for sale on gun broker through a trusted ffl I have (he does this commonly for a 20% fee) I have actually started to thin out some of the stuff i never shoot anymore .

I collect coins, and am a member of some good coin forums. We pass the following advice around, and it works with guns as well:

Keep a detailed list of what you have, apprx what it's worth is, and the names and phone numbers of trusted friends and/or dealers that your family can go to for help liquidating. Keep this list with your collections, and keep another copy somewhere else your family would think to look. Update it every few years. These lists will make it WAY easier for your family to keep what they want, and sell what they don't need, without feeling horribly overwhelmed, or getting ripped off by the shady guy down the street.

My Son has no interest in guns, but my daughter does so she gets the guns.

I figure I will be around for awhile.

By the time I finally kick the bucket, our guns will probably be replaced by PLASMA rifles in the 40 watt range.
