I like the EMP but it's so expensive, and for CCW the grip isn't that short. It's close to the officer length grip, so IWB it won't be that much easier to conceal even compared to a 5" government 1911. OWB and in a shoulder holster would be easier because of the short barrel though.

I'm still amazed that no one has brought out a 3", alloy framed 1911 with a Detonics length grip. The height of a Detonics from grip to slide top is 4.0" & that's about 1" shorter than all the Defenders, EMPs & such. I think the STI LS9 is the only other 1911 type withthe shorter, alloyed frame & grip.

Sorry about the hijack - I shoot at Iron Sights... Will they open up one side for us? Every time I am there the pistol only range is closed due to a couple of CHP guys practicing. Sucks shooting indoors next to guys with cannons.

I am in if they will do it.
