I also paid under $1100 out the door. Love it and can't believe how accurate it is for a micro barrel. My only complaint is that they should have checkered the front strap. I may ship mine off to have this done at some point.

I'd buy one if it were a couple hundred bucks cheaper.

I held it, it feels great, looks nice. I did a search and read some older reviews, but I wonder what the current consenus is about the EMP? Good, bad, OK?
Sorry about the hijack - I shoot at Iron Sights... Will they open up one side for us? Every time I am there the pistol only range is closed due to a couple of CHP guys practicing. Sucks shooting indoors next to guys with cannons.

I am in if they will do it.

Great gun. I have a bunch of 1911's and can recommend it for all the reasons mentioned here already. 1k-1200 isn't that bad of a price for a decent gun. I know you can spend less, but you usually do get what you pay for. It is a well made, solid, lightweight 9mm 1911.

Haha I hate it when I have more than one gun that I REALLY want, but have to only pick one because of a lack of spending money D:

The 40 is all steel - not "on roster" too. A friend has one, I like it but being steel kind of defeats the purpose, I think. With that I'd just as soon use the Detonics which is about 1" shorter in the grip than the EMPs.

Used EMPS tend to be a bit under $1K.

I really want one of these blasters but the cheapest i've ever seen it go for is $1249 - add sales tax and DROS, it becomes a pretty expensive CCW piece that I can't carry in CA. That, plus the fact that used ones are pretty scarce has kept me from adding one to my collection.

I will impulse buy it at some point, though. Just have to come across one that isn't overpriced at a local shop

I like the EMP but it's so expensive, and for CCW the grip isn't that short. It's close to the officer length grip, so IWB it won't be that much easier to conceal even compared to a 5" government 1911. OWB and in a shoulder holster would be easier because of the short barrel though.
