I have a sig xo 1911 and I really like it. It took a little cleaning up by my gunsmith to handle some of my handloads but it will eat up any commercial ammo I feed it.
Yes the trigger is fine afterwards but my point is if you're not looking to immediately mod your 1911 or if you're not that handy with detail stripping, you have a heavier than normal trigger. Also 1911s are all about proper parts fit. Removal of one part of the system may require adjustment in another part of the system.

I did a lot of research on this and looked at all 3 of the guns you mentioned. I ended up going with the S&W 1911, blued with rail. You will probably love either of the 3. The Kimber Custom II is the only one that does not come with an ambi safety, (although some Smiths may not have them, most do).

They are all nice guns that I'd love to have.

        GSR

Hi Calguns. 1st post here. I'm a Utahn but enjoy lurking here.

Today I bought a GRS SS from the LBS just as shown in your pic. It was new and taking space on their shelves since 2007 while flashier kimbers flew off the shelves by the many hundreds.
It was priced at $875 but they readily dropped it to $800 + tax and seemed grateful to move it. I headed straight for the range and ran a box through it with no prep. Function was perfect and accuracy seemed good as well. Trigger pull is very nice with no creep.

In terms of features, finish and quality this gun is perfect for me. I bought a 2nd hand Gold Cup Trophy Wednesday but quickly decided the nicely polished sides were too prissy for me so I'll get my $$ back out of it this weekend.

If you are still hunting for a gun I wouldn't hesitate to buy a post-7000 serial number GSR.

Kimber - awesome out of the box, no modifications needed. Mine is incredibly accurate and very reliable. Switch out Kimber magazines for Wilson Combat and you have a great gun!

I'm sure you'll be happy with any 1911 you do decide to buy. The trigger alone will keep the rest of your pistols in the safe.

Just be prepared to love your 1911 and defend its name to the death. lol
That being said, I ended up getting a Kimber Gold Match II and I love it and I just recently invested in the Kimber .22 conversion kit to maximize range time.

                Enjoy!

There was only a little bit of creep before the mod but not as bad as the tupperwarw guns I have tried. I feel that there is no better feeling trigger then a 1911. YMMV

                    SA Loaded

I just order my SA Loaded SS yesterday from BUDS $749 plus free shipping.
I currently have a Kimber ultra carry, great gun no issues. but between Kimber, CA, SW you can not beat the price of SA. Also I had a SIG GSR full size before, great gun but I sold it because I wanted a Stainless steel 1911 not a blue.

Comparing tupperware triggers to a 1911 trigger is worse than apple/oranges. I think the 1911 straight pull back trigger is the best trigger design ever. You should only compare between 1911s

Down to 5 days now, the wait is killing me....... I think I'm 95% sure I'm going to get the SW1911 though. Although I am tempted by this. Maybe it will my second 45

Nice choice, that thing is freakin' gorgeous!

I may be a little biased though... I just bought the exact same thing for my first 1911.
