    (go figure) Super lightweight.

it would help to know what calibers that you are looking at, or would settle for.
a friend just got an lcp in 380, and it is almost a "disappearing gun", really small, and light. fired 100 rds through it, (ball ammo), not one failure. pretty accurate, for the rudimentary sights, even out to 25 yds.
That may be a CG first!

I have a G26, its a bit too wide for my tastes because of the double stack 9mm mags. I have to wear one size larger pants to fit IWB comfortably. I have heard great reviews of the Kahr PM9 and the Kel Tec PF9 as they are single stack 9mm. As the Kel Tec is unavailable in CA (unless you PtP transfer), I've been looking at the Kahr PM9 but am a bit off put by the price ($700-800). Kahr just announced the release of the CM9, basically a cheaper PM9 that would be worth looking into. I am waiting for the release of the Ruger LC9, which is a claimed to be a 9mm LCP. So for me the decision is either the Kahr CM9 or the Ruger LC9; both are single stack 9mm so they are very slim...a big consideration for CCW.

I have found the desire to down-size as well. I have had a CCW for about 2 years now and started out carrying a Charter Arms .38 revolver in a Smart Carry configuration. Wanting more firepower and less thickness, I transitioned to a G30 after about 6 months.

Recently I have found myself wanting something smaller/lighter since the G30 is still a bit of a fatty in a Smart Carry or IWB. Luckily, I found a recent production S&W Bodyguard 380 via PPT and I'm about to add it to my CCW.

Admittedly, the mouse gun has substantially less firepower. I will, however, be able to carry it at all times comfortably, unlike the G30 or the revolver. I'll still carry the G30 when clothing/comfort permits.

Love my G26. Could literally stash it
          anywhere.

I'll probably make a trip down to Bass Pro soon to take a look. They had a pretty good selection last time I was through there.

            Thanks for your guidance.

How small do you want to go in pistol caliber? And how do you carry? And, the other obvious question; how much do you want to spend? Without answers I'll suggest:
            9mm
G26 rock solid but not much smaller than SP.
            S&W 3913 slim and lightweight.
            .380
LCP in .380 nice if you can get your hands on one.
Walther PPK/S series is also nice.

A Seecamp 32 is a real carry weapon, and will function flawlessly. My second backup was a Sig P232, but it was too unreliable. Now I carry a Seecamp and a S&W 642.

The Ruger LC9 would probably be your best bet, it's the exact same size as the PF9 (just slightly thicker on the slide) and will be affordable. I haven't gotten to hold one yet, but I really liked the LCP when I got to check one out and the LC9 is slightly larger which is perfect (for me at least).

Thanks to everyone for sharing your thoughts on this. After narrowing it down and actually looking, I've decided to go with a Glock 26. Now I'm just trying to find the right place to buy it. Seems the stores around me don't have any.
