Since you're in Eldo county I'd order something online from say Buds gun shop and have it shipped to Robby at Golden State Tactical in Fair Oaks.

As far as reliability and capacity goes, I definitely give the G26 a big thumbs up.

Here are my personal preferences though for a deep concealment semi-auto:
Kahr P-series or PM-series. They are very thin and conceal very well, especially with an IWB holster that allows tucking the shirt in. The PM series also works very well for pocket carry.

Also good for deep concealment/pocket carry are J-frame sized revolvers. Taurus 85M has worked really well for me in the past. Problem here is the very limited capacity and the extremely slow reloads. If you deal with two attackers, chances are that you may have to go to a knife before the fight is over... with a small semi-auto you still have six to seven rounds and a fast reload...

I've been dreaming about a Kahr PM40, the last couple of weeks.

Check out Youtube, and search Tactical Tim. He has some decent reviews of the PM9, PM40, and PM45. No affiliation, just found the videos informative.

OP, you already have the best platform, you just need a lighter version. Good luck on searching for a reliable semi auto.......the discussion is just internet fodder.

Newtown arms in placerville, Rancho guns in Rancho Cordova, Wild bills, River city gun exchange, just guns, tds, ....... no need to drive out of Sac.

I always liked the glock 36. Also I've never heard of a newer semi going off from a hard impact. Maybe I'm just out of the loop.

If you want super small, I have an OD green LCP that I LOVED.
                      It was so small.
And .380 is the next best thing if you need something a bit smaller than a sub-compact 9mm.

I sold it since I can't get a CCW in my county.

G26 with a G19 mag and sleeve? This looks like a nice package.

                          I'd consider the HK P2000sk or a Glock 26.

You might want to look at a Ruger SR9c as they are much thinner than a Glock. I have one and really like it a lot. Also Ruger has come out with an even smaller 9mm the LC9 should be getting on the roster pretty soon. The LC9 is lighter and smaller than most 380's

Kahr always gets rave reviews, perhaps you could look into these?

Drive 10 minutes further to Tracy Rifle & Pistol. Ask about the LCP.
