If you are looking for accuracy, try Winchester RA9T series ammo. It is very accurate ammo.

lots of options out there... some discussion here might be of use to you:

the remington UMC seems really dirty to me, and people have complained about their QA lately with bullet setback problems and such. i've had good luck with the MagTech and am still testing Sellier&Bellot and the Federal American Eagle stuff.

      good luck!

PS reloading 9mm may or may not be worthwhile unless you are looking for a specific custom load... i think the cross-over point is too high unless you already made the investment in the equipment for another caliber.

I have been shooting Winchester White Box from Wal-Mart for years in 9, 40, 45,
never a problem. WWB 9 in my XD is very accurate.
+1 for PMC in 223. My rifle match ammo out to 150 yds.
If you can't shoot good, at least look good shooting

          I'm curious.

I always get my ammo at Walmart, it's close, and they are always well stocked (Paso Robles)

The ammo I see online sometimes is close to Walmart's price, but you have to pay shipping.

Now, when you buy online out of state, there is no sales tax, correct?

So which is the best deal, pay shipping, or pay sales tax?

I think the sales tax is 8.75%?

Yeah, the Remmington UMC "shooter pack" (I think it is called) is low on my list too. I think it is because they stack 5 racks on top of each other and in shipping it causes bullet setback. I've had several that I have caught. I also think it runs a little dirtier than the WWB. That's primarily what I shoot, and have run it through Glocks, HKs, and S&W M&Ps with zero problems. But I do clean my guns almost every time I go shooting, so perhaps that plays into it.

I just bought 750 rounds of magtech "shootin size" and will have to get back to you on how well it runs in the guns.

When shipping is nearly free (for example $10 from weapons world or free from ammoman or $12 from PSA), buying online beats buying locally every time.

              For example, per 1K:
              Walmart Federal: $10.47 x 20 = 209.4 + tax = $227.72

              Weapon's World RWS 124gr Brass cased: $199.95 + 9.99 = 209.94

              Buy more, save more.

The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

To me Best 9mm Target Round means cheapest, so I got to promote the cheap russian Brown Bear ammo

Hard to beat $7.95 for a box of 50 (10 or more boxes at that price). I have shot thousands of rounds of this stuff out of my Glock 9mm's with not a single failure. Stuff is great, plus 1000 rounds is only $159 plus shipping with no sales tax from AIM

If you guys want to spend over $200 for 1000 rounds of 9mm practice ammo.... I guess some people have too much money

But then I have the brass to reload. It's all good... About half that for 1K more... It works out just fine.

many ranges don't allow non-brass-cased ammo... so ymmv. sure it's cheap... and i'm sure it works, but it depends on your situation.

at current market prices, you shouldn't pay much more than $200/1000 rounds of 9mm (FMJ) shipped to CA.

If you buy WWB and it jams on you, DO NOT come back in here crying. You have been warned that it is low end.
