I took out my brand new TRP Operator and put 500 rounds thorugh it without so much as touching it and it didnt jam once.

I've had my Operator for about 6 months. I've fired about 1200 rounds and about 6 different brands of ammo with factory and WC 8-round mags, and I have not had a single hiccup. The only slight issue was that with one of the WC mags, if failed to lock the slide to the rear after the last round. I cleaned, lubed, and swapped the springs with the other WC mag and I have not had a problem since.

That being said. The SA MC Operators needs zero break-in time. I believe the is most likely with the WC mag spring. Try only using your factory mag and see if that does the trick. If you still have issues (like Black Majik said), your extractor is most likely not tuned correctly. You could always get another WC mag to help you troubleshoot the issue.

I only use Wilson mags.

Send it back to Springfield you won't pay a penny and they are pretty quick.

So I went shooting yesterday and shot the pistol with the factory mags no problems,100 rounds. When I put the wilson combat mag it did it again jams on the last two rounds spent casing and last round trying to chamber. So I think my problem was the mag. I bought a Chip Mc power mag. I'm gonna put 50 rnds through the Chip mag tomorow.

The factory all black is a different model, off-list as well. It's also not called the MC Operator. Mine is a legit MC and it is all Black. Springfield confirmed it to be a custom shop alteration. I'm glad to see someone else with some nice taste in 1911s!



As for your stovepipes, as the others have said; try new mags and new ammo. If it still happens, give Springfield a call. I've run nothing but Chip Power mags (now only Power+) and the only problems I've had were my own fault (mag not seated, excess lube, crap ammo, excessive dirt, etc) never the guns fault. You have a very nice .45 there, feed her what she wants and it'll last a lifetime!

Those 185gr Winchesters, hollow points? If so, you should wait until at least 500 rounds of 230gr ball has gone through to loosen things up and mate surfaces before using hp's.
It's hard to work out problems with a mix of ammo during break in. Although in this case, your problem does seem to be the magazine. Just my opinion from experience.

Get some 7 round Wilson mag spring & follower kits.
Use only round nose 230 gr for a few hunnert rounds.
