    M&P9 mods

Has anybody handled a M&P that has had APEX work or DIY drop in parts, and at least one more M&P with work by Burwell, Boresight, etc? Any huge differences that I should be aware of when choosing between them?

    Thanks!

Check out youtube and find the Apex videos. He has walkthroughs on how to do the installs. Looks pretty easy, but I will be sending mine into Apex (just don't have the time and they will polish out the internals if you send it to them). I've heard Burwell is just as good as Apex, but there are a lot of Apex kits out there because it is a DIY job for most. I really haven't heard any complaints in the research I have made on Apex.

      I have a RAM that I haven't installed yet...but I guess that doesn't help.

Apex are drop-in parts so if you needed warranty work done by S&W you can swap the original parts back in. Modified original parts will be R&R'd at S&W and you lose them.

I assume the DCAEK level 2? Might I ask about how much it will all be for you after shipping? Yeah, I literally haven't seen ONE complaint about the Apex bunch. Leaning towards them quite a bit

Do a search for multiple reviews and you can follow my signature for more details.

Cliffs: Apex Tactical's parts will make a day and night difference in the trigger.

I personally have two M&P's fitted (DCAEK,RAM, Sear Block Upgrade) and polished up by Apex Tactical, they are fantastic

I've seen your name in almost every forum I have done research in! You've been a big push in why i should get Apex haha. I was hoping you'd find this one. I believe the slide must be sent overnight shipping? Any idea of round trip cost?

I shipped the whole gun or was lucky to have it picked up Shipping depends on where you're from and I insure it for $600 or whatever and it's come out to $45 one way. It's worth it to me as there could be some tolerance stacking with the factory parts which they will correct and I like having the extra polishing done to it. Doing it yourself is another option and has worked out for thousands of other happy owners.

Yeah I figured sending it in might be the best way, so Mr. Lee can spice her up! That price ain't too bad. Looks like i won't be buy ammo this month though.

It's not bad IMO for the end results. Since it's there get the DCAEK, RAM, Sear upgrade if needed, Sight install if you haven't done it yet and the extractor upgrade is optional but I like the extra insurance

The website says the RAM is for M&P's withOUT the magazine disconnect safety. If I remove the mag safety myself, will it still work? Or are the rear rail housings different on the pistols WITHOUT the mag safety?
                            I fly everywhere backwards.

I have the apex kit. I bought it and installed everything myself(and really, really glad I did). The only hard part was getting the rear sight off to install the new plunger. I was horribly sad when I got it back together because the feel and break of the trigger was much better with the stock plunger! So dont even mod that part(skip the hard part!). It goes from a nice crisp break(with stock plunger) to a rounded creepy break(go figure, the plunger is more rounded which makes the break longer)!!! I have not felt a burwell trigger job, or any other stock M&P for that matter, so I have no idea what anything else feels like. Generally this stock trigger pull is absolutely HORRIBLE in the stock form, and gets much better and much more consistant, clean and (dare I say) predictable with the sear and spring kit from apex.

I personally dont like sending my gun out in the mail.... Its just not the greatest option when you can do it yourself(and learn how your gun works).
