The single shot law can be used to comply with the law. It's not a loophole.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

Tracy Rifle and Pistol stocks single-shot exempt LCPs. Go say hello to Mike and the guys at TRP and buy your LCP.

P.S. It's not a "loophole". It's a perfectly valid statutory exemption to the Roster.

          There is no loophole.
There is compliance with the law as written.

Yes, PRK in Fresno is able to DROS the LCP to non-exempt individuals through the single shot, dimensionally compliant roster exemption.

And I really want to see a picture of an LCP with an 8.1" barrel.

The LCP is a pretty cool gun. It's really too bad you have to jump through hoops to get it. Good luck with it, you won't regret buying it.

Can we please make a single shot exemption sticky? This gets asked about a different model every day now.

Personally, I'd rather wait for the LC9 to be available either via roster or SS exemption.

What hoops? He lives in Livermore - the OP may drive 15 mins to an awesome CGF-supporting FFL, do the same purchase as he otherwise would, and go pick it up after 10 days.

I still don't get what the fascination is over that rebadged Kel Tech. We've transferred a couple of those and, to me at least, it's usless except for a back up gun.

The others, well......they just never learn.

                              Single shot, dimensionally compliant.

                              This means:
                              Minimum barrel length 6"
                              Minimum overall length 10.5"
                              Zero-round magazine
                              Mag-lock device

This can be accomplished in a number of ways depending on the gun. Example, for the 1911, you just need a 7" barrel, zero-round mag, and the mag can be locked through the use of grip screws that are long enough to secure the "mag".

The LCP looks so funky in it's exempt form because the original barrel is only 2.75", and the OAL is only 5.16", so you need to add 5.34" to the OAL to make it roster-exempt. This can be accomplished and meet both the minimum OAL and minimum barrel requirements with the use of an 8.09" barrel, which is what you see in the picture above.
I'm not familiar enough with the gun to know how the zero-round sled is locked into the magwell.
In this form, the gun can only be fired by locking the slide back, manually inserting a round into the chamber, then releasing the slide.
