Non LEO - not police, DA, judge, Federal LE agent. Those folks get special treatment in law and in practice when requesting CCW.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Something else I've always wondered is if one were to have a CCW permit, would that allow you to have it concealed in your car while driving? Loaded.. Unloaded..? Thanks for feed back everyone! And another thing that's totally off subject, any type if oil or solution that I can put on my kimbers barrel to prevent that nasty looking surface rust coloration?

Loaded concealed pretty much everywhere with a few exceptions.

The law is not clear. There is an interpretation, which makes sense to me, that the loaded handgun has to be in your "control", like reachable. The law does not say that it has to be strapped to your body.

You are right. That poster above you could not have recognized sarcasm if it was the size of the Rock of Gibraltar and landed on his head.

I was just amazed at the level of ignorance/laziness/whatever of the OP asking a question such as the topic of his thread. If I was the reviewing officer handling his application, I would not approve his CCW.

CCW is the ultimate responsibility. it requires a high degree of research, sophistication, and maturity. Features clearly lacking in the mindset of the OP.

Maybe the rest of you will gladly give him a CCW like it was a Costco card but I wouldn't.

OP asks a respectful question, making evident his uninformed interest, Joeyant offers a flippant response, and nothing of value. I am going to have to sleep on my decision about who is the larger douche, but there is a clear leader.

Its probably easier to just get a job as a cop and carry concealed under LEOSA/HR218 than to get a traditional CCW permit I would think, lol? Lots of folks have them but they always have a unique situation or unique connections as to how they got it from what I have seen. But it is possible technically.

You are uninformed, try doing more research and less posting on the topic.

^damn they got a cool logo. IDK I get the feeling if you're a women, properly defended yourself from a bad guy CCW aint gonna be much an issue. If you're a pretty stout man, the after action stuff maybe harsh on you. Even if was against a group of bangers, first question would probably be "You know this is a gang neighborhood, what were you doing here?"

I believe you can carry a gun on a belt clip in CA but the gun must be unloaded with the magazine out. The gun must be visable as well.
