USP 45 VS Glock 21 ....

I prefer the USP, you may prefer the Glock. Try them both, they are both good guns. I own at least one of each.

having actually owned both, i prefer the usp. the grip angle of the usp is "american style," if you will, and lends itself better to my instinctive point shooting. it depends on what you were raised on, methinks.

if you want a polymer, doublestack 1911(basically, same pointing and safety placement, etc...), the usp is hard to beat. glock, theyre great pistols too. just not my cup of tea. for LEO, glock is 13+1, usp 12+1, really not much of an edge there. good luck with the search!

If you are female or have small hands the Glock will likely fit better. The USP full-size accommodates large hands and shooting with gloves donned. Both are great and super reliable. I'd get the LEM module in that HK, not a big fan of safeties on a defensive piece.

Both are nice pistols that will serve you well.

I personally don't care for the DA/SA trigger systems. I had a USP in 40cal and it was very reliable.

I have carried a G21 for 16 years on duty and I have never had a FTF or FTE. I had a few times where the slide locked prematurely with the Gen 2 version and the old style mags. Fortunately this happened in the range. Zero issues with the Gen 3 version.

We shoot about 1000 rounds per year for mandatory training and I shoot about an additional 500-600.

It should boil down to YOUR preference as you can't go wrong with either pistol.

(ahh, beat me to it.. ^^^) keep in mind that the v1 usp is capable, and really shines, in condition 1 carry. i choose to forgo the da pull entirely. the sa is pretty crisp, and lends itself well to accurate shooting.

The HK with the LEM has a light pull after you rack a round. The advantage being that you can pull through again on a failure to fire and give that primer one last chance before working the slide.

but you can do the same thing with the v1, it still has a double action pull. the weight of the standard da pull isnt much of an issue compared to the ftf itself. not enough to justify a removal of that sweet single action, in my opinion.

Correct me if I am wrong I thought the LEM was to mimic the Glock Trigger. How many trigger variants does Glock have?

I've owned an HK USP45 and I currently own a Glock G21SF. The HK was a nicer looking gun for sure but the Glock seems more utilitarian and I'd be less inclined to care if I scratch it. That being said I think I shoot the G21SF more accurately and I like the aftermarket supprt for the Glock.

I don't even remember what (if any) performance upgrades you can buy for the HK (I'm sure some will say it doesn't need it as much as the Glock). There are more mods available (I think) from more vendors for the Glock and I like having those options even if I don't need them.

So right now I definitely prefer the Glock. But I'm sure you're aware that you can't go wrong either way.
