    Who here alternates favorite handguns?

Just wondering if I'm alone here or if it's a normal phenomenon to switch around between handguns that become your favorite out of the blue? In the past couple of years I have gone back and forth with at least 5 different handguns that have become my "favorite". Being my favorite includes being carried around the house, fondled, shot more than the others and just thought about more often than the others.

In the past year or two, my favorite handguns have been my S&W 442(.38spec), S&W 640(.357), Ruger SP101(.357), Glock 36(.45), Glock 26(9mm) and just tonight the Glock 27(.40) just jumped up a few notches. This made me wonder if you all go through this or if I am alone here.

My all time favorites for now (CCW) are the Airweight S&W snub 442, Glock 36 and my SP101. So is this weird?

Nope - just like sex. Favorite positions change with the weather old fashion missionary, feet up the stand-up - I like my 45acp then go to the 357 followed by the 9mm.

          Hell yes It's weird!

Naw, I flip between my Taurus .38 snubbie and my M&P9c for CCW. Meanwhile I have a beautiful P226 Equinox .40 and a P220 Stainless Sport in the safe. My biggest hink right now is trying to find the "perfect" carry combo for the CCW guns. Can't spare the room inside waistband, and so far every OWB prints more than I like.

naw I really don't flip between the ones I have. I usually buy a new one and that becomes my favorite. I'll then just sell the ones I'm eeehh about. I'm looking for a vaquero/blackhawk in 357 now as a matter of fact to be my new mistress.

so far no... as of now all my handguns are tools for a certain purpose.. one for comps, one for HD, one for when the world goes sideways.. that said im finally looking to pick up a few more "just cuz".. time will tell with how the heart feels about the new tools..
Boy the way Glen Miller played, songs that made the hit parade, guys like us we had it made, those were the days, and you know where you were then, girls were girls and men were men, mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again, didn't need no welfare states everybody pulled his weight, gee our old Lasalle ran great, those were the days!

IMO there's nothing more deadly than switching trigger platforms on a home defense or carry gun. My favorite gun is the one I shoot best with. While I like fondle guns, I personally wouldn't suddenly carry a 1911 if I've been carrying a Glock all my life.

+1 on not flopping back and forth. my primary range gun is also my HD gun. my w german Sigs all speak the same language.

Well, I never had a favorite handgun until I started reloading .45acp and modified my 1911; it shot so well that it became my favorite ragne gun. Then I stopped reloading and now back to not having a favorite any more.

However, I do shoot my .22LR pistol the most as its lack of recoil and my mountain of ammo gets it packed for the range every time.

I carry guns that work for the occasion and not necessarily my favorite (e.g. I've never carried a 1911).

I do have a favorite rifle and shotgun though...

I like to switch it up every once and a while. Might as well give all the kids attention since they don't like being locked in the safe too long.

That's exactly why I sold my Sig Pro. The trigger felt very different than Sig P series. My favorite 9mm is Sig P226. My favorite 45 is Sig P220. My favorite compact 9mm is Sig P228. My favorite compact and slim 9mm is Sig P6.

Pretty often. I have "favorites" that I don't even really enjoy all that much, they are just my favorites for certain uses.

Yeah, I rotate a lot. Traditional double action, safe action, revolvers, I'll get on kicks where I'll train like crazy on one style and it will become my pet for a while, and then I'll rotate on to another and it will become my favourite all over again.

As some of you guys get older and get larger collections and get comfortable with a lot of different styles you kind of lose, or at least I did, any sense of absolute favouritism for any particular gun or style of action.

What always cracks me up is that I don't particularly like Glocks, but if someone said "your arse is on the line, pick one..." it would be a Glock.

But think about this: you work hard all your life so you can buy all the guns of your dreams, but when you get them you find you no longer have guns of your dreams.

                              Then again, I don't have a Korth...yet!
