When I first went to shoot at the trap fields, I could not do so without a military sponsor, retired or active duty and told that I could hang out and watch for a little while, but that was it. I had to return the following week with a sponsor. Then and only then was it acceptable.

That's the story on the trap fields, I have not visited the pistol range so cannot verify that it's the same.

The cost for a round of trap or skeet is $7 or $8 if I remember. Not a deal by any stretch.

Hey faterikcartman....it's me, the Python guy. Nice to 'see' you!

It's 5 dollars a round for military for skeet, trap, and sporting clays. Those are the same guys that will be running the open again pistol range. I'm gonna be out of town for a few weeks but if there are a few of you that would like to come shoot on base let me know. I live on base close to the main gate and could sponsor a few at the range from time to time. I may go shoot some trap this afternoon and if I do I will clarify prices for you guys.

        Sweet.

The pistol range was closed at Miramar shortly after the Marines took over. Wish it would be re-opened too.

Ok so got a little more info. Rifles up to .223/5.56 will be allowed. Range has a rough max distance of 65 yards. They will have ammo that will be reloads like iron sights. The guy was really busy and I was shooting trap so I kinda forgot to ask prices.

That's funny I used to work over there and forgot all about it. Will hit it up this weekend.
