    Camp Pendleton MCB Pistol Range

The bases pistol range is a great facility that has everything you need to have a great day of shooting: ammo, gun rentals targets and instruction at half the price of any where in town. Give them a call at 760) 725-4832

I didn't realize they were open to the public? Is the rifle range open to the public as well?

Yes only open on saturdays. They allow you to draw. Clean, outdoor facility. Cheap ammo prices, too.

Their trap range is also open everyday except tuesday and wednesday.

I've been shooting at both ranges for a long, long time.

They even have their own FFL on base!

Sorry for all the replies, silly phone...

wow, so i (civilian, no ties to the base) can just drive on up, the guards let me in, and i can shoot? ill be darned... dont even need my rapidgate badge? sorry for the questions, it just seems so... counterintuitive, for lack of a better word. never would have thought, in a million years..

                hmm..
Both ranges are open for active-duty and retired Military, their families, authorized DoD personnel and authorized guests. Hearing and eye protection are required for all participants and can be provided. We are unable to process credit or debit cards. Checks or cash only please. Watch for our Intramural, League and Vado Del Rio Trap & Skeet Club events! For prices and more information, call (760) 725-4832.

Yes, you can bring your own shooters. Just remember muzzle awareness!

Do you remember their prices on 9mm? I'll be passing by Pendleton tomorrow and I think I might stop by to check out their FFL and ammo prices.

                        9MM prices are $10/bag of 50. .40SW is $11.50 / 50

Pistol Range at 33 Area (Margarita) is now open Saturdays & Sundays. Although tomorrow may be closed due to rain.

No rifle range, yet....Although you can shoot your rimfire .22 at the pistol range (there is a 50 yard range for rimfires).

There is some stuff in the works to open up to .223 shooters, but no definite timeframe at this point.

                          Here's the deal guys:

All California laws apply on the base.

The pistol range is open Saturdays and Sundays from 1030 to 1600, however the range will likely be closed this weekend due to weather.

Civilians are allowed three visits on base per month, but depending on which guard you encounter, you could be searched (not very likely). There is no rifle range yet, but there is a 50 yard stand for 22LR rifles.

Ammo is cheap. There is also talk of the range opening up for .223, but that's just talk.

Its a nice little outdoor facility. If I remember correctly Gunner Brayman is in charge and he runs a tight ship.
