I use a small pistol case with a combo lock (Can't remember the brand). I then keep that inside a hollow book.

Good thing about the combo dial is... well, I can't really get into that one.

Purely out of curiosity, why did you stand the mags like that instead of laying them on their side? Wouldn't they be less bulky that way?

I tried orienting the magazines both ways before cutting the foam and the difference in bulk was negligible. I ended up putting them like you see in the picture because it leaves more to grip onto when taking them out of the case due to the foam.

1. The magazine is NOT inserted into the pistol. You can have rounds in the magazines that you are transporting, but no magazine in the pistol.

The Belkin and any other netbook case needs a lock as well. The price point among netbook cases varies too. I did not say the Armadillo was better, or that the Belkin was crap.

Ok..I decided what to carry in my NETBOOK case

I'am going with my GLOCK 29....and two magazines. One ten rounder and one 15 rounder.

I cut the foam for two carry options. One with the action open; one with the action closed. The mags are easy to grasp. If the action is open, the weapon can be charged and ready in seconds.

Lift up the foam underneath and I have a copy of the Gun Receipt from my good friends at ON TARGET where I bought it; and a copy of the DROS on the weapon. I know this is not required, however if I ever have to comply with an 'e' check, this may speed things up a bit.

Usually the Police check for the weapon being unloaded (the reason for the 'e' check, which I personally think is a violation of the 4th Amendment, but that's another thread.. ) and they sometimes check to see who the registered owner is. Stolen or not...etc..these copies will give the POLICE some clarity. Which may save time.

Here's the outside: I may find an IRON ON logo or something later....sometimes it's hard to know what's UP. For sure the NETBOOK case is firm and you can't feel what's inside..no indication at all.
