    Neat LUCC container

I was at Target with my wife tonight and wandered into the electronics section while she was off looking for a Christmas tree stand. I wasn't really looking for anything in particular, but came across a Belkin netbook case that I immediately thought would be great for a LUCC container. Priced at $17.99, it wasn't terribly expensive. My wife instantly knew what I was going to do with it when I put it in the basket with a smirk.

When I got home, I started trimming the foam that was already inside the case to keep it's shape while on display and my G17 with SureFire X300 and two magazines fit with plenty of room to spare. Threw a a small Masterlock 3 digit combo lock on there and it's good to go.

The case is semi rigid and you can't feel or tell what's inside once it's zipped up. Quality seems to be good and is a handy size to easily transport (it's not as big as the one on the tag).

So, I did boogy over to Tar J and got a purple NetBook case. I like it..!

The same size as a normal piece of paper..the weapon/magazines don't print thru. It's soft inside and outside....

It holds my GLOCK 19 with 3 Magazines (70 rounds total of DoubleTap)

I "may" cut the foam that came with it later today...but so far this case is

          a WINNER..(for under $20)

Zips up nice and looks like any NETBOOK case. Combo lock fits perfectly.

Sorry for the dumb question but is this perfectly legal to carry... Please direct me if you can find a thread that covers this

I love ideas like this. It's definitely "stealth carry", with no reason for anyone to think there is anything but a laptop in there.

              Awesome.

i'm sure you know but others may not.
having a loaded mag inserted in the gun is a no-no for LUCC.
i'm not saying your mag is loaded but a newbie might see the pic and get a bad idea.

Yes, this is a perfectly legal way to transport your semi-auto handgun, as long as:

                  1. The magazine is NOT inserted into the pistol. You can have rounds in the magazines that you are transporting, but no magazine in the pistol.

                  2. The case is locked. A small padlock or combo lock through the two zippers will work just fine.

Those gun rugs and pistol cases that you can buy at your local gun store are essentially the same thing. A laptop case just doesn't scream "GUN!" when you're carrying it around in public.

Yes a newbie to this FORUM might get the wrong impression. As a reminder I will say:

Unloaded in a locked case. Unloaded means no magazine in the weapon. However, loaded magazines can be carried in the same locked case.

In real life no magazine would be in the Glock 19.

My particular plans for this nifty Netbook case is for Auto or Motorcycle (in my saddlebags) transport. Locked unloaded Concealed Carry.

In a PINCH one could carry the NETBOOK CASE anywhere and not cause alarm or concern. Whether it's legal or not is another issue

                    Thanks for the reminder.!

They also have a slightly larger version over at Tar J...I may get that one for my GLOCK 20 set up. It appears thick enough.....

I don't LUCC, but if I did and wanted a hand carry case, I'd probably use the 511 Single Pistol Case. Handles to carry it and holders for mags so they don't flop around; the holders will also accommodate a light, knife, etc.

It's lockable; the zipper pull holes are large enough for a lock.

OK, I try to stay up with all of the silly acronyms but what the heck does LUCC stand for? I can't keep up with all this new crap.
