Woah, that's high for the Kimber Eclipse in 10mm. I sold one a couple months ago, and it's pretty nice - I'm considering getting one. If you're local, PM me and I should be able to save you at least a few hundred off $1400...

Thanks for the offer, LeeLaw. I actually saw the Eclipse at Irvington Arms for about $975. I was just saying my max limit is $1400 =)

        OK, whew.

I'd personally go with the Kimber, but I'm biased. If your budgeted for $1400, I'd go with the Eclipse plus a case of ammo, see what is left over and see if it will cover a nice trigger job.

Cool. Yeah, I'm sorta leaning towards Kimber myself, but I can't rule out the Glock too. I've handled the Eclipse at Irvington Arms and it felt very nice.

I won't be getting the gun for another month or so. I just picked up my TRP Operator and have been having lots of fun shooting/taking care of it...not to mention some of my $ is taken from company temporarily, but it'll pay off in the end.

            Factory ammo recommendation

The best deal I have found for new 10mm factory ammo is from a mail order source named Georgia Arms. They have very reasonable shipping costs, and their basic 10mm practice ammo is about $13 per 50 rounds.

Glock 20...I've got one and it's great! I'm looking to customize it sometime soon. What do you guys think about aftermarket barrels (LWD, Bar-Sto, etc)?

All this G20 hype makes me impatient to fire mine. I just picked one up PPT w/ Trijicons and a Glockmeister tungsten guide rod installed....wonder how much fun it'd be if i re-installed the original?

I personally love my EAA witness in 10mm, bu tyou can't get them here anymore. After that I would go with the G20. I don't particularly like Glocks that much but their frame design makes shooting the 10mm more user friendly. Lets face it...finding glock parts is dirt simple too.

There is nothing like a Glock 20 10mm especially with Double Tap 165gr gold dots

Are G20s okay with lead bullets or do i have to use pricier jacketed bullets?

My polymer handgun manual says not to shoot reloads. Is it the same for Glock? I've been very hesitant shooting reloads in polymer guns after having seen one blow up in a guys hands 2 stalls down from me.

Glock 20 all the way. Shoots good, lots of aftermarket support for it and its alot cheaper then any of the 1911. If you get one, get a 22-24 lbs recoil spring, a stainless steel/tungsten guide rod and head over to www.doubletapammo.com (even if you dont have a 10mm, i'd go over there, they got good stuff for most calibers) and get you some REAL 10mm ammo. The thing I like about the 10mm is with the ammo doubletap's got, theres really nothing animal wise you cant put down in california.

I have those 2 upgrades and a box of doubletaps as well. You even think it can put down a CA black bear?

Using a stock barrel, no. Glock warns not to shoot lead, their bbls are apparently polygonally rifled.

Conventionally-rifled bbls from aftermarket vendors like KKM Precision, Jarvis, and perhaps Bar-Sto that would suffice...

What's stopping you from shooting yours?? Take a day off and go nuts at the range.
