10mm Poll

Hey all. After some consulting, I'm thinking about the next pistol of mine being a 10mm. Anyone have suggestions for a good model? I'd say my price range is up to $1400. As of now, my choices are Kimber Eclipse II and Dan Wesson Pointman Seven. Any other good ones? Thanks for any input.

Kimber Custom Target II has adjustable sights. Since the 10mm allows you to reach out there, target sights are probably a must.

Glock 20, money saved can be used spending on magazines..

A used S&W 610.. if you don't mind 6 rounds at a time..

Otherwise your other choices are probably spot on. I toyed with the idea of turning a Para P16-40 into a 10 mm. All I'd need is a heavier recoil spring and a barrel. Everything else would remain the same. It wouldn't really be practical but it'd probably be fun.

The 10 mm is a great round, usable for hunting with the right bullets and if you load it right, you could get light 41 magnum performance out of it. I've loaded some pretty warm ammo with my 610 classic utilizing 200 and 220 gr bullets. Though in a semi-auto you will be restricted by magazine length as to how far out you can seat bullets.

How about a Glock 20? It only runs about $500. Then you can use the remaining $900 for the ammo.

I've personally been comtemplating purchasing a 10mm for the last couple of years but other things have caught my attention. (That Noveske upper is costing me a pretty penny.)

Doesn't the Eclipse Target II have adjustable sights too? I'm more into black/blued color than nickel/stainless

No, only the Eclipse Custom II (Night sights) is available in 10mm. The Eclipse Target II is only available in .45

I shoot the Glock 20 and love it. Find a good G20 then spend the rest on ammo and reloading dies. 10mm ammo is kind of expensive, but it's well worth it for some fun shootin'!

I'd love to have a 10mm in a 1911, but too pricey, and 1911's are for .45's.

Another +1 on the G-20. Or, you can get the newly available G-21 SF, and a conversion barrel... or even a new slide from Lone Wolf and have a totally custom Glock with a long slide. There's a guy on GlockTalk that has built a long slide G20/21 that looks pretty slick.
