I am going to buy a gun from an online dealer and have it shipped to a local FFL, but the fact that they use USPS gives me pause. I was under the impression that all handguns HAD to be shipped either UPS or Fedex; does this rule only apply to those without an FFL? A handgun can be shipped from one FFL to another using USPS?

Except I believe there is a law in the People's Republic of California that says all handgun shipments coming into the state must be via next day air.Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Yes. Only 01 FFL can submit handguns for shipment through USPS.ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page
Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!Comment

07 FFLs may, as well. If the FFL is for dealing in firearms, and not collecting (03 FFL) or personal, then they may use USPS.
No such law.Except I believe there is a law in the People's Republic of California that says all handgun shipments coming into the state must be via next day air.Comment

Agree with wrong, for whatever reason. But if a NON-FFL wants to ship a gun (to an FFL), that's "their" policy(s)...
I have purchased many a handgun that was shiped by the USPS from an FFL...(to my FFL).
But unless you have an FFL, it's gotta go the expensive route....My Opinion - Worth What You Paid For It...

No, no, that would be cruel.

Fill out a 1508 for yes, but as far as how it ships, nope, can go parcel post for all it matters, but you would be a fool to not have some tracking.Watch our

I was wondering. I have an 03 C&R FFL and have had Long guns sent to my house via USPS by an 01 FFL.
I'm guessing that he field out that form 1508 for shipping via USPS by a dealer. This is what it says:
The undersigned is a manufacturer of firearms or bona fide dealer therein, and the parcels presented for mailing herewith are customary trade shipments or other articles for repair or replacement of parts. To the best of my knowledge and belief, the addresses are manufacturers of firearms or bona fide dealers therein.
As an 03 I'm not a dealer per say. Did the 01 FFL break the law by sending it to me via USPS?
If for the purpose of form 1508 does a 03 C&R FFL fall under the classification of a Dealer?
If it does can I as an 03 C&R FFL holder ship via USPS to 01 and 03 FFL holders?Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.
