Well, if it makes you feel any better, I bought a "new, latest, 2nd edition, etc., etc." , Lee book and it didn't have very many more calibers than my old Speer book, .45 Super? Forgetaboutit. It does have a few pages of 10mm though, some pretty hot stuff.

Have you tried the Load Data site? Seems like they have everything in one place.

im kind of leery of load data that doesnt come from one of the major component manufacturers. does that site just use mfr load data, and put it on the site? ive seen some sites where im not sure id trust the source. i have never actually loaded any rounds that didnt come from an actual, bound reloading manual.

I havn't subscribed, just banged around some. They do seem to have all the different mfg's load data (probably just transcribed from all the books) and seem to also have "guest" data that I guess are favorite loads of users. Looking at the "guest" loads for the calibers I am familiar, nothing seemed to stick out as a real head scratcher. They do have .45 Super loads, although I didn't see any using Unique.

In the past I have always double checked two books before actually trying a new load idea. It would just be nice to have everything at my fingertips.

I am most interested in getting the loads I want to start with nailed down, so I don't buy the wrong powder, etc. The Hazmat fees being what they are, I will be buying in the 8 Lb style bottles, so I don't want any mistakes.

mwa ha ha... the spring kit and ammos are here... range report tomorrow....

o-m-g. that recoil spring was the biggest pain in the butt ever. i did the ole' "coil it around the retainer" trick, cuz i didnt want to destroy the circlip, and i think my right thumb is going to be sore for a week. then after getting my (ie the wrong one) punch stuck in the slide replacing the firing pin spring(for about ten minutes while the kroil set in...), im ready for a field trip. cant wait... like a lil kid on christmas eve...

Some fun. If you have a Chronograph, I would love to hear what you are using and getting out of it.

no chrono, sadly... but ive got to build up a stash of brass anyways, so ill be doing the "once-fired" bit for a little while... at a dollar a round, i sure hope this baby ejects to my six o'clock..... not sure the range will let me hunt it all down forward of the firing line.

i should probably price one out, so i can do some good load development.

                  Couldn't hurt to ask...

Some ranges I have been to have a Chrono, one let me use their's for free one day. I am definitely going to buy one after the first of the year.

Anyway, have fun, I am jealous.

Tom Gresham was selling custom 10 mm 1911s not long ago - they were by Kimber I think. If I couldn't handle a 50 cal revolver (which I can't) I'd go for the 10 mil. Of. Ours when you say bear you have to be more specific. A Ca black bear is a far cry from Alaskan Browns.

Did you like it when the bear shoved the 10mm up your ***? from not actually hitting it? seems like you did.

                            lol wut?

anyways, got that baby out to the range this morning, and holy guacamole batman!! the pistol has a whole new appeal to me. the .45 super, while not recoiling too terribly much more than the .45acp, is one hot round! just the concussion as compared to the standard round, and the force you can feel headed downrange is astounding. who would have thought that for six dollars and some change, i could have a whole new, ogre-vaporizing handcannon!

it still feeds wwb .45 acp reliably, so im not worried about the pistol being oversprung. it only tosses the brass out casually now, but i figure the wwb is not loaded that hot. full strength and +P acp will do just fine, i have no doubt.

so if anyone has a usp and wants to have some fun and try something different, .45 super is a great way to spice up your life..

A gun that shoots plain old .45 ACP, +P .45 ACP and a round that eclipses the hottest 10mm's, all in one package. Nice. I can hear that HK45 calling me.

I think I will program Valkyrie Arms into my GPS.
