If good shot placement with a 9mm can take out a human being, good shot placement with a 45 can take out a bear.

To me PERSONALLY a 10mm isn't worth it because 1. I don't reload 2. That ammo is real hard to find and expensive (surprisingly my 5-7 ammo isnt) 3. The new ammo law.

well, ill be darned. it seems i already have a pistol that will handle .45 super. my hk usp! just found that out on the internet.

now all that's left to do is to get me a 1911 in 10mm, and i wont feel like im missing anything! thanks, yall!

Yes both the HK USP and the HK45 will will handle 45 super. Minor tune up is recommended though to reduce the wear and tear 45 super will cause on a 45acp gun.

I guess I did miss all the threads about bears and desk shooters, just a lucky guy I guess.

I have recently dug the press and all the other stuff out of storage and have started reading the load guides again (haven't bought any powder or bullets yet), mainly for .45 ACP, but your thread has gotten me thinking. Once I restart the press, it really doesn't matter what I shoot.

I don't have the same desire as you for a 10 right now, but I happened to look in the .38 Super pages and was surprised how much energy some of those loads are packing, hotter than any +P .45 ACP loads I have found.

Now the .45 Super, hmmm...

only problem i have now is that my load data is older than .45 super. guess i gotta get a new book...

Just make sure you file off the front sight on your pistol otherwise it will hurt when the bear shoves it up your ***.

now, you think a bear has the dexterity in one paw and fine motor skills to actually cram a firearm into somebody's hinder? cuz i always kind of thought that a bear's paw would not be the most finely tuned appendage for grasping objects and manipulating them. thats why they rip lids off coolers and smash car windows.

but i guess yogi bear was able to swing on those ropes and hit people with that old guitar all the time... oh wait, maybe im thinking of something else.
