I have owned both g17 and g19. Sold the G17 to buy another G19. Plan to purchase a third G19 in the near future. G19 for the win

      Glock 19 for now.

The Glock 19 is probably best in the world for an all around perfect 9MM handgun. Just large enough for anyone's hands, compact, can take Glock 17 normal mags if needed (17 rounds). Reliable as can be. Just the right size.

I did a training session with a young lady at the range last week. She had never shot a gun in her entire 25 years on this planet. After a classroom tutorial using the Glock 17 and Glock 19 we picked up a lane at On Target and the very first weapon she shot was the Glock 19.

I was amazed at how accurate and deliberate she was with the Glock 19. You can see the first few rounds in the target.......she loved it.....

(she plans of buying one as soon as she can pass the HSC test..... )

Get the 19 now, the 17 or 34 later.

If that's the case, then definitely go with the g17. I got the 19 after shooting it and am now feeling it's a bit too small for my hands. Plan on getting a 17 (or 34) for me and letting the wife keep the G19 which she loves.

the glock will be smaller then both 17 and 19 i believe .

G19 IS IMO the perfect 9mm. 1000+ rounds in the 3 months Ive had it with zero issues. I continue to get more accurate every time I shoot it. Im not a great shot but can usually put all 10 rounds in a neat little 4-5" cluster at 15-20 yards

I own both for several reasons-

                      - I like the 17 for home defense and all around target shooting.

                      - I like the 19 for my travel/CCW firearm. The 19 is my backup to the 17.

                      - The 19 is ideal for teaching lady friends how to shoot for their first time.

                      - Interchangeable magazines. (not a big deal, not just wanted to list it)

For me, the 19 is an all around great firearm. Mid-sized and perfect for travel, off-road vehicles, etc. The 17 DOES fit better in my hand. So again, each pistol serves a purpose for me.

G19 is more well-rounded for doing everything you mentioned, but G17 is better for Competition/Range/target.

The biggest difference for me is the size of the grip. The 17 fits me perfectly. The 19 is a little small for me, but it is not extreme. I really like them both, and the 19 seems to be as accurate as the 17 as far as I can practically tell.

I agree with you, although I'd change the G17 to a G34. Hell, you could use the G34 for all of them if you wanted!

Honestly I haven't noticed a significant difference in the accuracy/recoil management/sight radius of the 17 v. the 19. I think a 19 would do just as well in competition use as the 17. In fact the last course I shot I used a 19 and did better than I have with my 17. Go fig.

I'd get the 34 over the 17. In fact, I did.

If I were to buy another in 9mm, it would be the 19.

To me the 17 represents a compromise between the 19 and 34. And in a world of compromise, some don't. Wait, wrong company...
