Jeezz, and to think I bought my first Colt Python NIB out the door for $177.00! I then took it to Fred Sadowski of Denver and had him do a trigger job. Smoothest revolver I've shot bar none. It's not getting away from me as Mr. Sadowski (the pre-eminent Python tuner of the day) is now deceased.

Why does having box and paper get a better resale price?

shoot i could sell just my colt python box for $100+ hehe

its a big deal to collectors.. to have everything that came with the gun originally..

if you notice.. colts will sell quicker if they haven't had any upgrades.. original grips, no trigger jobs, etc..

just how it came from colt

I'm not owned nor shot a revolver, but the 1911 and Colt Python are the epitome of handgun masterpieces IMO.
The Python is definately on my buy list and there is no way I am not going to shoot it. It will be well used when I pass it down to my son.

Every gun should be used !! Why in the hell would you not fire it ?? They fire them from the factory anyway.

I've always wanted a Python. Beautiful guns.
This may sound strange and unbelievable to you, but it is real and true.

it validates the gun to be 'original' from Colt and thus keeping the documentation means that there are people who take care of things through 'time'.....

im still waiting to see a Python in a "Presentation Box" with that Royal Blue lining in it...man those were purrdy. my father had all the nickel plated ones in those boxes.....

i know someone has to have a box with one in it......

there is also something to be said about the older Colt revolvers and the Smith and Wessons- from the 'blueing' to the craftsmanship that went into each and everyone of these pistols. just seems like the blueing on the older revolvers were just hypnotic. unlike the newer S/W 686 revolvers. they almost look dull....
