I have a love affair with Ruger's. I can't get enough of em. Ruger makes a damn fine firearm. I would have to say they make the best firearm for the money. I have to say I like there revolvers the best. I am itching to get a Vaquero really bad.

well, the semi auto cf pistols seem...... out of my taste bracket. let's leave it at that.

however, i do own a security six. the only .357 ill ever need. i also own a ruger standard, (pre mark I) only (edit for sobriety- semiauto .22) pistol ill ever need. oh, and a single six in .17 hmr. the only squirrel popping rimfire revolver ill ever need... we wont get into my fondness for mini-14's here...

I'm not an expert. In fact, I don't get any more entry level.

But the GP-100 357 mag was my favorite pistol of all time. Till I tried the Redhawk 44 mag. I'm itching to see if the Redhawk 454 tops it. There is something about revolvers with absurdly long barrels and high weights that make them so much fun to shoot.

I have consistantly shot best with my P90 including guns which are 3 times it's price. And bought a P89 recently, and had a Single Six.

Ruger makes great guns. Ignorant Folks make fun of them, but I have yet to see a tangible reason for that hate.

Oh - BTW - Ruger has one of the best CS of any gun mfgs. Semi-Autos or revolvers. You call, and get a human, and they are helpful.. Serioustalk....

I love all my Rugers! They are just not as refined and lack a certain appeal for some. I can out shoot some some people with their tricked out "race guns" with my old chunky P-90. I wish Ruger would make a 10mm based on the P-90 platform.

Unreliable and low quality??? I haven't had such a good laugh in a really long time.

Ruger Blackhawks will digest loads that would turn other other revolvers into rattletraps, there's a reason why reloading manuals puts the caveat "For Ruger or Contender Only" on the really stout loads... they're freaking tanks.

Try shooting a 454 Alaskan with a 2.5 in barrel. That would be fun.

Exactly. I forgot to mention there CS. The best in the business. I once stripped out the receiver holes in my 10/22. I called them up and ask them what they could do (not expecting anything). I sent them the rifle and got a brand spanking new one on the house. they even refunded me $45 for shipping and to RE-DROS. Can't complain a bit. Thanks Ruger.

I have a Ruger P95 and is one of the few handguns with a double stacked magazine I can shoot reasonably well. It is the companion piece for a PC-9. I also have a Security Six (the second handgun I ever owned), a Single Six I use for small game and a 22/45. Each is as reliable as any other example in its respective catagory.

GP100 here. Not more than 100 through it yet myself, but looks to be a lasting piece of equipment.

I just joined the Ranks of the "Ruger owners club"! I purchased a P95PR when the Sig 2022 9mm I had been eye balling ended up getting sold. Picked her up from jail on Friday and put 100 rounds through her on Saturday. I must say, for right out of the box it was really accurate, trigger was much smoother than I had expected and recoil was virtually non existent. Seems like a well balance weapon to me, mag release is a bit awkward but I will get use to it. I must say, I'm kinda glad the sig sauer got sold, I got this beauty for half the price of the sig and had a grin from ear to ear all morning while shooting it. This won't be my last ruger, that's for sure.

So 1 person who thinks every gun other than the M&P or Glock are junk qualifies as a lot of people? Ruger's are nice firearms, but I really only care for their revolvers and rifles. I prefer other options for semi-auto pistols but not because the Ruger's aren't good. The SR556 rifle is junk though.
