Sigs

Want to get some opinions. I would really like to get a sig, but have a HK USP45 and a Glock 19.

What other chamber should I get and which model (if .40SW, 226 or 229??). Or should I get another .45 or a full size 9mm?

SIG P-229 in .357 SIG and get a .40 S&W barrel for it.
SIG P-220R Carry SAO if you want a .45 ACP.

I have an HK Compact .40 and love it. If you really want the Sig, I also have a 229 in .40. I really do prefer the HK though. My 2 cents.

Yes, it can. If it is a .357 Sig or .40SW, you can also get a 9mm Luger barrel for it from Bar-sto (but you cannot go from 9mm to .357 Sig/.40).

The 226 is my second favorite gun, as Quiet mentioned the P229 in .357 Sig is also my favorite.

Having said that, you should go out and shoot them first, they do not fit everybody.

Sigs are like OLL. You won't be able to just buy one. So your real question should be which Sig should I buy first . They are all really different creatures. I went through all the phases 229, 220, 226 etc... I wouldn't sell any of them.

I am fairly sure but not positive, if you swap out the barrel for a .357 sig for the .40 or vice versa, you may change the point of impact slightly. I forget how significant the difference is, you want to check on sigforum

Yup +10 I have a Sig 229 that came with the .40 S&W barrel, I purchased the .357 Sig barrel on Ebay. Also installed the Crimson Trace laser grips, and tac light on the rail. Sweet pistol you can't go wrong. My friend has the Sig 226 Navy, also a very nice pistol.

Why the SAO P220?

Personal preference.
I really like it and it annoys all the 1911 owners I know.

Sigs are the best I think. They shoot straight, awesome build quality, and you can field-strip them in less than 10 seconds without needing any other tools.

P229 in .40 caliber

Since you have .45 and 9mm covered, I would suggest a .40 caliber gun. You asked about the choice between a Sig P229 and a P226. I have both, but I would buy the P229 first because it is a little more compact so that it could be carried if you were so inclined, yet it is large enough to be an excellent range gun. The P226 is an excellent gun, but it is about the same size as your USP 45F, and also weighs more. The P226 is designed to be an open carry duty gun, I believe.

My P229 is one of my most accurate and reliable guns, and is easy to take down and clean.

This little pistol is one of my favorites as well.

I have this one in all 3 calibers 9mm 40SW and 375Sig.

I like it just about as much as I like my P226 in 9mm. Although I haven't gone the full caliber route in the P226 as I have in the 229.

Anybody handled the new Sig GSR C3 compact 1911 with external extractor? Clint Smith gave it pretty good copy in the July issue of FMG GUNS. $1067.00. "3C" means carry, concealed, compact. I like the looks of it. Clint calls it reliable.
