Extractor break after 4 rounds? Hmm, post some pictures, don't mean to sound suspect. But I've been around alot of folks that shoot a ton of rounds out of different platforms. Yet to see an extractor go with only four rounds-that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Also, I'm guessing you meant compact rather than sub-compact.

I'm going to give the OP the benefit of the doubt for now. What the status of the Glock? Armorer or returned to Glock? Were there any rounds prior to the range session?

          Thread is fulla fail................

It takes all of 3 seconds to remove the slide on a Glock. If you are confused on how to do it you should rethink owning firearms because your hand eye coordination and thought processing ability's are severely lacking....

          Make safe
          Pull trigger
depress slide lock while slightly pulling back on slide.

          Whalla 3 seconds.........

So lets say ANY part on the Glock(any generation) breaks. If a replacement part is nearby the Glock is back up and functioning in about 5 min. And the XD is in a box being shipped somewhere to be fixed in a few weeks. So which is easier? Also I'll stay with my gen 1, 2 and 3 Glocks( more parts = more problems)

Although I agree that Glock has not done enough to stay current, the take down method is something that should never be used against it because it is one of the easiest.

As for what they have not done: The biggest is the ergonomics issue. Although the generation 4 Glocks claim to solve the ergo complaints, the fixes appear as a last minute and cheap band-aid. The much maligned hump which could easily be removed or put on through the use of the removable back straps remains.

2mm of adjustment in grip length through the use of interchangeable back straps seems more of a gimmick than actual progress. Maybe it is time to have an adjacent product with slightly smaller round capacity but with ergonomics that feel accommodating to many more users.

Last item of importance is the aesthetics of the gun. It really does look like a block. The dust cover on the frame on every single model bends upward and provides an even cheaper look. After so many years and 4 generations why is this still an issue?

Mechanically a crisper trigger would be a welcome and unbeatable addition.

None of the above would matter if the glock was a 350 dollar gun. However it is one of the more expensive polymer handguns on the market today and lets face it, a lot of it is the mark up of the name.

I did have some trouble sailing a 32 foot cutter down the coast of Florida by myself but I did make it .... who knows a left turn might mean my demise.

Where did I say I had trouble? No wonder this country votes for morons, they can't even read.....

Far far far far far easier than pulling from the rear and trying to remove it. Never tried it that way, my buddy taught me and he does it the hard way. I guess when I pick up my glock 19 in 11 days I'll get a chance to try it out.
