Kimber Custom TLE / RLII or Springfield TRP Operator??

Quick opinion poll. I'm down to these 2 choices for a 1911:

1. Kimber TLE / RLII
2. Springfield TRP Operator

Any thoughts? Experiences (good/bad)? Please share!

Don't Kimbers all come with internal extractors?

yes, all the new ones do. the old ones have the external extractor which was known to have alot of issues.

TRP Operator because it comes with a Springfield lifetime warranty. Also the Operator looks cool like airsoft because it says "tactical" on the side.

Does the TRP have internal or external extractor? And why's it so expensive?? I did get a decent quote for $1335 + 3% CC fee and shipping. It's a whole lot better than the $1525 + CA tax. But why SA over Kimber? Any particular reason? Accuracy? Feel? Reliability?

I did a a lot of research before buying my one and only 1911. I am not really a 1911 fan, but am a gun fan and no collection is complete without a 1911. Here is what I found out in my research

Springfield TRP, why so expensive?: Basically you are paying for the extra attention to detail. Checkered front strap, mainspring housing, SS Bull barrell, Novak Night Sites, adjustable sites, Armory Kote finish and no MIM parts (metal injected molding).
Complaint about MIM parts is a gun can fail without warning, and MIM parts wear faster. Kimbers uses a lot of MIM parts and in general is not as reliable as the TRP.
The TRP is basically a custom gun that you can buy off the shelf. Feeds very reliably and shoots all kinds of ammo. My personal rule is if a gun can't shoot Wolf, the gun is not worth a dam. The TRP is also amazingly easy to shoot and is very accurate.

The sad part of all this is I supposedly have the best out of the box 1911 there is, but I don't even realy know why it is so great (besides from what I read) I mean yes it is easy to shoot and yes it is smooth, but so is my XD45, and Sig P220. The TRP is only slightly smoother and more accurate than my XD or Sig but is 3 times the price... but I do love the TRP though, it just feels solid unlike any handgun I have had.

I the real reason I love my TRP so much is because it says "tactical" on the side. Only thing better would be if it said "Ninja"

1911's must be good because LA SWAT uses them.

Navy Seals uses Sig P226's because they do not know how to shoot.

I did not make that up. One of the member's here on Calguns told me that I liked it to so I use it for my Sig!

I'm pretty sure there are MIM parts in the TRP Op. You'd prolly have to search around one of the 1911 forums to make sure. But since we're whoring out our TRP Op pics:

+1 on 1911 forums ( http://forums.1911forum.com ), tons of info on there. Just do a search for TRP or RLII.

I looked on the 1911 forums and the consensus is the TRP OP does not have MIM parts.

... and lastly, beautiful gun you have there! I think I saw your TRP before and it was one of the pictures that persuaded me to get a TRP, and that's another reason to get a TRP, besides saying "tactical" on the side, it is the most photogenic 1911's ever!

I'd have to cast my vote for the SA Operator. I am quite a fan of SA. love their weapons, their customer service, and their custom work
