    Stupid 9mm brass

I'm very new at shooting pistols. I've only put 600 rounds through my new glock 19, but I got my face burned on 2 different range trips already. The brass will fly straight back and lodge between my eye protection and face. I've been burned on the cheek and today my eye lid is burnt. It's friggin annoying as hell. It only hurts for an instant, but I hate having a mark on my face for a week and I get bugged about it. I'm gonna use my chemistry goggles from last semester, so hopefully this won't happen anymore. I'll man up and stop crying now.

    That.

I know how you feel though, had a shell roll off my forehead and lodged itself between my glasses and my right eye.

I try to lock my arm, but sometimes it's slightly bent.

Wear a hat. What stance are you using to shoot?

The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

Sounds like you are practicing a proper cheek weld.

Could be worse. I've seen a pic of a gal who got one down the shirt front.

She didn't cry as much as you, though...

I don't get any of my own rounds extracted onto me but for some damn reason when a person to the left is shooting a .45 maybe a 1911 the brass is always popping over the wall or hitting me and im like wtf.. last indoor range trip i had one land in my shoe and I wear ankle socks and the tongue on my particular shoe was kinda sticking up and I got burned a little bit, just enough to be like ohh shiz but nothing major.. I'm pretty much resilient to it but I remember going with my sister and the chick shooting next to her had a brass casing hit my sister and she like freaked out, I thought it was funny..

Had this happen to a girlfriend of mine. She had a diagonal burn mark between her eyebrows, and I was lovingly applying Mederma to it twice a day for at least a month.

I bought glasses that fit her face better (no gap big enough for brass).
