Got ya. Yes, Sig no longer refinish for their older carbon steel pistols. I'm trying to dig out who did all the Sig's carbon steel finish (Sig sure didn't do for themselves). But as now, CC is looking better and better.

Haha, I remember you got kind of unfairly blasted on the Sigforum by a few other members for pointing out the clip "spots" from CCR. They can get a little overprotective of their forum heroes. Can't even let a guy have his own opinion.

Nah, they didn't blast me for that (at lease I didn't feel it). Though I did get the official answer from CCR why they left the "spots".

THe spot you are referring to is where it is held during the spraying process. The area is protected and can't be seen when the gun is assembled

You see, it was my own fault not to recognize CCR has everything under control. The spot they left without painting was because no one will see them if slide was on. What you can't not see won't hurt you right.

All joke a side, CCR still offer a great deal on their refinish. Does those spots worth the $10~20 price difference? Not to me, but I'm sure someone else doesn't mind.

I actually had a email conversation with Todd from CC. He told me he would first clip the frame on the rail, pain the whole frame than clip it on the hammer area and go back fill in those missed spots.

I remember he specifically said to stay away from any new 220 at the time and that it was best to stick with the folded slide version. Did he ever design a fix for the 220 slide?

i'm pretty sure Bruce wouldn't have posted that, he was one of the big advocates saying that Sig should not issue a recall for the stainless steel milled slide 220s as it wasn't a widespread problem. it was a matter of tolerance stacking between the location of the extractor in the slide and the machining of the breechface.
