CSACANNONEER .. I agree with what you said.. throwing your brass all over the place is not cool in a variety of situations.

And yes.. this is a useless and entertaining thread.. sure to hurt someones feelings.. someone who has a really ugly black plastic gun... not to name names of course...

You know, I gotta agree with this. One of the first handguns I ever got to fondle (but not shoot) as a kid was a 4" blued Python. That Heavy vented rib barrel with thick wooden grip made me think that was the baddest 'piece' on the Planet.
I have yet to own a Python. Someday ;-)...

            Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

Steve McQueen in "Bullit" carried a 2 1/2" Colt Diamondback. Now THAT was cool!!!

I have been a revolver guy since my leo days. See no reason to change. (But I DO own 3 Glocks. Go figure.)

                    Didn't know they were engraved!!!

More info. He carried a lot of different handguns..

Since I don't yet have any handguns, I'll let you purchase one of each for me, and I'll get back to you with my opinion on their coolness.

Nah - a Glock is more like a pug. Just plain ugly, with no endearing qualities like a bulldog. (Takes cover from all the pug owners!)

it's an ugly gun, yes, but it's MY ugly gun!!!

Actually, I think the pair of Ruger P90's that Antonio Banderas carried (and blasted everyone with) in Desperado were extremely cool. Any gun that gives me a leg up in dealing with Selma Hayek gets two big thumbs up from me!

He did have a Smith & Wesson .357, but the one pictured is a Colt .45 SAA.

                                Not pearl, ivory.

Most people, and especially Patton fans, are aware that Patton hated for his pistols to be referred to as "pearl-handled".

Patton took violent offense at any reference to his pistols being pearl handled. He said, "Only a pimp in a New Orleans whorehouse or a tin-horn gambler would carry a pearl-handled pistol." In no uncertain terms he would have the offender know that his revolver was indeed "IVORY-GOD-F***ING-DAMN-HANDLED" and with that he would turn on his heel and leave.
