Revolvers make cooler noises as the hammer goes back and the cylinder revolves. It's distinct in the same way as racking a pump action shot gun.

it's an ugly gun, yes, but it's MY ugly gun!!!

More like a junkyard dog. Often neglected, sometimes abused, underappreciated, maligned by others sometimes by their own masters, but always forced to do the dirty work.

For just overall cool, there's only one,
        a revolver:

Nothing, I mean nothing, feels, points, shoots or looks cooler than a Colt M1860.
There may be better, faster, hotter and more modern,
but my 1860s are more fun, get more banjoeye stares and shoot tighter
than anything else I've shot or showed.

After Glock, Kimber in 45...I was beguiled by a Smith and Wesson 325 Thunder Ranch in 45 ACP...Black is beautiful.

Well, then my G19 must be the most pampered junkyard dog in history!

              Bogart used revolvers.
              Widmark used revolvers.
              Mitchum used revolvers.

A revolver doesn't bluff. You can see the other warheads in the chambers. And if it's a big-bore snubby you can even see the one about to kill you.

Snubby revolvers are just damn sexy.

Jim - I agree. But a picture is worth a thousand words...

Seeing an old timer shoot tight groups past 15 yards with a snub nose older than me is pretty cool.

Almost any revolver will shoot far better than the person shooting it.. Not so much centerfire semi autos.

i remember reading that once...it had to do with revolvers not being as user friendly and hence harder to shoot optimally with them

Depends who you ask. Nowadays, for youngin' 90's kids, semi-autos definitely.
