It's different for everyone and both have their place.
For me it goes like this...
When I'm in the woods hunting, camping or fishing, I carry a large caliber revolver, wouldn't even consider a SA. You've got power and accuracy with steampower simplicity. Heck, I even make a shotshell round for my .44 and .357, both of which have collected rattlesnakes.
For urban CCW, I carry a 1911 or a Sig P220. Fast follow-up shots, accuracy, powerful round.
So I guess the answer for me is - both.
