Revolver vs. Semi-Auto, Coolness

It's different for everyone and both have their place.

For me it goes like this...

When I'm in the woods hunting, camping or fishing, I carry a large caliber revolver, wouldn't even consider a SA. You've got power and accuracy with steampower simplicity. Heck, I even make a shotshell round for my .44 and .357, both of which have collected rattlesnakes.

For urban CCW, I carry a 1911 or a Sig P220. Fast follow-up shots, accuracy, powerful round.

So I guess the answer for me is - both.

Although I believe the semi-auto is better as a weapon than a revolver, and that I personally collect semi-autos over revolvers. I must admit that in my opinion the revolver is generally more aesthetically pleasing. I won't mind getting a S&W .44 magnum in stainless eventually...

Clint makes revolver's look cool because Clint is cool. Steve Freakin McQueen made the shotgun look cool in The Getaway. Robert Conrad made the derringer look cool in The Wild Wild West. James Bond made the Walther PPK. The Glock made The Glock cool.

Semi Autos have that kind of gadget, high tech, type of cool, but it ultimately has a good guy type of feel to them.

Revolvers have a bad *** type of cool. Sort of in the same way that the mafia have a cool aura about em.

Both are cool though, hope to add a revolver to my small stable of guns as soon as I can find the one I am looking for.

1911 is obsolete and bulky and takes ONLY 7 rounds. Sig's are the way to go. Even Iranian army has them

They may be outdated but not obsolete, and we are talking aesthetics here, not performance.
