Don't do it! Once you do, you realize the genious yet simplicity of the Glock design. You be amazed at the reliability and durability and eventually succumb to the curse of the Glock...you'll buy more of them. Lastly, more chicks will dig you.

If you buy it and don't like it there's a steady stream of people waiting to buy it from you. If you buy it and like it then you've just found a gun you like with a ton of things going for it. What's the problem?

It's greener on the other side because of the paint they use to color the molded plastic.

Do this: Grab a glock and put it into a shooting grip in your hands. Close your eyes and raise the gun, and point it at something (safely). Open your eyes and see how far off it is because of the screwy grip angle.

          Go hug your XD.

huh, that's a new thing I never heard about. All I know is last time I went to the range with my Glock I kept shooting the black part at 25 yards. I guess I'm one of the few lucky non-Austrians that Glocks are made for

I'm gonna go and fondle my Glock now.

Since we live in a State that only allows 10 round mags, I don't see the point of buying large sized guns in small calibers. You get 10 rounds in a G30 whether you live in California or any other state that doesn't restrict magazine capacity.
              +1

I'd look at the Glock 19 before the 17 if you're limited to 10 rounds...

Still not "in love" w/my G17 after several years.Took me quite some time to get my groups consistantly tight, but she's cheap to shoot and very rugged. I can't tell you the last time cleaned her. I say buy one...you really cant lose.

Just spent some quality time with a G19 and G22 this weekend. I liked them alot. Was beating the snot out of the center mark with the G19 very consistently, so I think this could be "the one." I haven't yet tried the M&P in 9mm though and am wondering if anyone likes it better than the Glock. Your thoughts?

How much smaller is a 19 vs the 17? If' it's too small I'd be tempted to carry it around at work
Lord, make my hand fast and accurate.
Let my aim be true and my hand faster
than those who would seek to destroy me.
Grant me victory over my foes and those who wish to do harm to me and mine.
Let not my last thought be 'If I only had my gun."
And Lord, if today is truly the day you call me home, let me die in an empty pile of brass.

I'm picking my G17 up from Bright Spot Pawn tomorrow. I already have a cz75b and a HS2000(XD9) and I have been going back and forth on buying a glock. As for buying a full size gun that holds 10 rounds, why not, especially if it isn't for carry. I shoot full size guns better than compacts, I love both my kimbers and they hold 8 rounds. Here's where I got my g17, $459 plus $15 shipping plus transfer. This guy has used glocks also for good prices check out his website. http://www.summitgunbroker.com/ Mark

Glocks are the best handguns out there! Affordable, reliable and accurate as heck. Comfortable to some, and customized by others. Don't forget, magazines are less than $20! Go for it and join the club.

It has to do with, IMHO, what you were trained with. I was trained with 1911s and Sigs, and as such, the Glock does not feel right to me.

Instinctive aiming with a Glock is very poor, since I need to continually reset my sights, as it always points higher than expected, and as such, I have decided to not purchase one.

It's personal preference, and what works for me might not for you, and vise versa. I appreciate the Glock for what it is, but what it is does not mesh with what I need it to be.

I used to have a Glock 22. Thought I didn't like it. Shot a few since then and found that I really like the trigger reset. I now have a G35 on the way. If you are looking at the G17, you might want to look at the G34 also. These are great for IPSC if you ever want to get into that.

I plan on shooting my 1911 for Single Stack or L-10 on my Saturday matches and my G35 for my Sunday matches.

Reloading .40 S&W has me scared S***less but I am gonna give it a whirl.

I've only shot the G34. Its a nice gun and feels good in my hand, trigger wasn't to bad, but it was my first pistol I have ever shot. Was hitting water bottles at Los Altos tin can range.
But its all about what feels good in your hand.
