The G17 is my favorite Glock
They maybe ugly but they sho' rock
Ready to go, no need to "cock"
No problems at the range when I hold it sidewayz
Blastin' out the 10-ring, leave that paper on a haze
No weight on my hip, when I'm hidin' it
          Under fo-hundred - I'm buyin' it

Aftermarket support for this platform is insane, and for the most part, a lot of it is just "drop in."

I have a G17 with OD frame, Shoots great, but I have to position my trigger finger differently,I have to use the tip of my finger. Or my finger will come in contact with the trigger guard which is not comfortable. The 10 rd mags are a b-tch to load the 9th and 10th rd.

I have had my Glock 17 for 8 years now. I bought it as my hunting accomplice; As such it rides on my hip in the brush; on the quad, on the horse, in the dirt, dust, rain, and muck.

She has never failed me once, she is very cheap to shoot.

                    Two bits of information:

                    1) If this is your primary concealed carry weapon for personal defence, buy a .45 Glock. 9mm is a bit anemic for all situations. If its for anything else (hunting/plinking) then its an excellent weapon.

                    2) Buy Novak Sites... its worth the extra little bit; don't waste your money on the "night sites" or anything else. Novak sites and a surefire flashlight is all you need.

+1 on the 45. My first Glock was the G21. One of the firearms that shot really well right out of the box.

What's not to like about an affordable, durable, workhorse firearm like a Glock. Welcome to the Darkside

HA - I felt the same way - didn't like the grip (still don't) but man everyone says they are so reliable so when I found a good deal - there are so many that good deals come up every now and then - I had to buy one.

                          I got a G22 - wanted the G23 - but for the price - $450 LNIB - night sights and 4 extra mags + box , & lock in 99% condition I HAD TO BUY IT!

What the heck - its back up to my revolvers.

It's reliable, it's affordable, it always works. And like the Camry, it's not particularly sexy or exclusive. Not saying this is a good or bad thing, just stating my belief.

To argue for the Glock is not like arguing for some obscure cause, taking a firm, controversial stand in defiance of others. You are in the clear majority.

Glocks are fine, but there are alot more guns further up the list for me to buy before I get one of them.
Well Jesse, I agree with the Glock being reliable and all, but it does have one quirk: don't shoot lead bullets through it unless you are religious about cleaning it. A lot of the KBs with the Glocks came from lead-fouled barrel shooting unstable Amer ammo. A Camry can run on pretty much anything there is(so reliable in fact my parents both drive one).

My G36 is in the factory for some minor work and I'm antsy for it to get it back
