Why Not Get a Sig P220?

So I'm going out this weekend to try one out and if I like it I'm going to get the Equinox version. I love my 1911 (I know to all the 1911 fans why get something else) but I like having diversity in my safe. Thoughts, comments, other options that I should consider. Needs to be .45 though. Got into reloading and don't feel like having to do it for mulitple calibers till I get much better at the one I'm doing.

    Thanks.

While I was searching for my first handgun I passed on an older model 220 for $500. Had no idea it was exactly what I wanted.

I wound up with a new KP90. It's nice, but I'm kinda still kicking myself for letting the Sig get away.

I have a 220R Carry SAO. One of the finest handguns I own.

If you try and like, get it... can't go wrong IMO. And that Equinox is purty!

I have a P220 2 tone. Its a big gun but surprisingly light. I have medium hands and even with Hogue rubbers its ergos are great. I wish it didnt have the rail and I will eventually cover up the 2 tone with duracoat black. Its a really nice .45 and could easily outshoot me.

I'll echo this - I'm a 1911 guy, but my Sig 220R Single-action-only compact is just phenomenal. SIG bullet-proof reliability with single-action sensibilities! It's plenty accurate, too...

One cool (and unexpected thing) is that you can press-check the gun with hammer cocked *and* the safety engaged.

I have three of them, regular 220, 220r, and 220 combat. I'm considering the 220 carry as I type this. One of the best guns I've ever own, even better than my 1911 TRP operator.

                            If I bought a Sig, I would buy a P220.

But that would be a long time after I got a lot of other guns I want more.

The grips are just a tad fat for my hands, but it's a nice hefty gun chambered in one of my favorite calibers. Very comfy to handle apart from grip width.

Let me know if you find a reason. I have a 220 carry and a 220 combat (wierd combat trigger). But they are outstanding pistols. Get one... Or two or three
