I'm not a gamer, but any use in the real world calls for a quality 1911.
Shenaniguns, good call on the "they're."Comment

For me it's 1911 > H&K > Sig > Glock
I only shoot my guns at the range and don't carry. If I had a CCW then my preferences would be different.Originally posted by G. Michael HopfHard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times.Comment

For slow target shooting my old customized Baer >>>> anything else I owned so far but once I add in my draw, first initial shot and each shot after I was as accurate but slower than using my old G34.My opinions are my own and do not represent the position of other companies I may be involved with.Comment

I think anyone who doesn't at least have one of each in the same size and compared them personally with feeling really should remain silent until that milestone is is reached.
Oh yeah, I meant the the women above not firearms ;-) Where's Tiger when you need him?
Men can be objective about women, but firearms, well that's an entire other matter and we'll never find agreement.
My current priority for pistols is: Sig > HK > Glock > 1911
Why? As I see it...
1911 is a relic--great tech for it's time--the best--but it's over with .40 S&W and .357 SIG besting it in every way unless you are a nostalgia buff--and that's good reason.
Glocks are great single narrow purpose simple firearms but not safe above 9mm (by design) and not very flexible in operational parameters which is why the Seals, Secret Service, and others won't use them. A Sig P250 is a Glock only better.
H&K is a great gun but over priced for poly--in Sig you get alloy for the same price or poly for far less.
That's my biased opinion and it's mine alone. It's for me and I stand by it for me and me alone--your choice is your own.
PS: I carried a 1911 a lot in my tour of duty--it was faithful weapon--tried and true--but I'd never choose one now given the much more modern weapons I can choose.Last edited by advocatusdiaboli; 04-30-2010, 10:31 PM.Benefactor Life Member NRA, Life Member CRPA, CGN Contributor, US Army Veteran, Black Ribbon in Memoriam for the deceased 2nd Amendment
