    Your Sigma experience

I guess the Sigma isn't well liked so let's hear why?
I picked up the original SW9F, the G17 clone that Glock sued S&W over, I got it for $100.00 value in a barter deal! It has worked flawlessly for thousands of rounds except for a few FTF with ultra cheap reloads. What is your experience?

I love my SW9VE. The grip fits my hand perfectly. My only discrepancy was that I had to get a rail adapter to run a tac light, but after I got one it works great with my TLR-2.

      I had one in .40 stainless/black, after 200 rounds, many fte,stovepipe,ftf
with factory ammo of different types, sold it with full disclosure for $200

There's a reason why you got it for $100. I'd never own one, tried one and sent it back.

I use to load mine up and throw it at the target, always a direct hit!
I hated mine so much ( really I did hate it) I sold it for .20 on the dollar and was happy to get rid of it!
Mine would always shoot anywhere never low and left or right and low or high or....... It just would go all over the place, I had the gunsmith check the barrel to make sure it was a 9mm barrel not a .40 and it was a 9mm, so I don't know what was wrong with it, but the gunshop I sold it to had no problem selling it even though I told them the problems it had.
If you like yours fine, but I did not like mine at all.
Oh it was a first generation, maybe that was the problem?

Which Sigma and specify if you want to hear experiences with the old version Sigma's v. the new Sigma's. It seems that the two are different animals. If you want to only hear about the older versions......

That said, I like the Sigma SW9VE (new). Shoots great, no malfunctions, awesome grip, simple operation (identical to Glock). Only time will tell durability.

Unfortunately not a lot of aftermarket support (yet) or even availability of OEM stuff, like magazines and things for accessory rail as limaoscarlima stated. However, visited the Crimson Trace website the other day and they have a "Coming Soon" laser for the Sigma!

I had the SW9VE. The gun felt good in my hand, never had any problems feeding, firing or ejecting. I did NOT like the trigger at all. I ended up selling the gun to fund a new gun purchase.

Looking back, I regret selling it. It was a solid gun - great for a beater, camping, trunk gun, etc.

I was about to sell mine, but the slide ended up with a little surface rust before I meet with the guy I was going to sell it to. Everything cleaned off nicely...

                still shoots fine...

I love my SW40VE! My only complaint was the heavy trigger pull. So I sent my Sigma to S&W and did a trigger job on it for free! S&W customer service is great. The trigger pull is still not the best, but it is substantially better than it was out of the box. Slap a Pachmayer grip on it and you are good to go!

                    +1 for the Sigma

I love my SW40VE. Zero FTF's FTE's stovepiping, etc. I reworked the trigger and I really like it. It's basically an American Glock, so IMO hating on it is hating on Glocks. The trigger was pretty stiff at first, but not any worse than any DA revolver. After reworking the trigger it's pretty decent. I don't get all the hate.

Best bang for the buck available today. My SW9VE has over 10,000 rounds down range with never so much as a hicup. Accuracy? Excellent. Every round in the 10 ring at 15 yards. Trigger? Excellent. Polished the sear surfaces and removed the pig-tail spring. About a 6 pound trigger with a clean, sharp break.

I had one of the old versions (back in 1999) and hated it. It jammed more than my Intratec AB-10 (Tec-9). I traded it for a ruger P95 and never looked back. My understanding is that many of the issues have been corrected in the new versions, but it left a really bad tase in my mouth. Because of that experience I am leary of any S&W polymer autoloader.

I DO NOT like Sigma especially the older generation. But for $100, it's a great truck gun to have. For that price I'll take two.

I have the original SW9F it's worked flawlessly for about 4k rounds and as accurate or more than all the other models I've shot except for a sig 226 that was an accurate pistol. Maybe I just got one that had good QC. I really like its light weight for hiking.
