Why no interest in this Browning?

As many already said, the customization doesn't add value.

In case of Hipowers, the decision to stop producing them put the price high up there, and it is getting point of rediculousness IMO. Reminds me of HK P7 frenzy after HK announced it won't make those anymore.

With the economy being what it is, there are less reasons to buy more guns, and with all the guns that has been flooding the market after election frenzy, it will be a tough sell.

A wee bit high on the price there. The market isn't all that great right now, due to the job situation being what it is. Nice gun, though.

I've been seeing quite a few guns on the forum that are out of their market price range. Guys... a 10/22, even custom, is just NOT going to sell for that price. Especially when I can walk on over to Big-5 and get a new one for a bunch less. Saw a Kahr on here kinda in the same situation. Guy wanted more than a local shop was charging for a new one.Seen some others that were well above what I could get one on GunBroker for, even counting the shipping and dealer fee. Here's a hint to some: the fact that YOU owned it doesn't make it a collector's item.

You bring up an excellent point in Hi-Power pricing. Just recently, I've noticed a heavy increase in Hi-Powers. It seems Browning is reimporting HPs. Brand new Hi-Powers have a MSRP price of over 1K, street price around $950.

It seems like just yesterday I remember seeing them for half that. Once HPs stopped being imported, prices skyrocketed way beyon astronomical. A grand for a stock hi-power? No thanks. Even at $650 which was considered high, wasn't selling. A grand? Ha.

OP, your hi-power is nice, but the street price for these don't justify the prices you're asking. For $1K, there are many things I would rather have over a hi-power, the hi-power while on my list is way, way down the list especially at the 1K mark. It is a good thing you still have the receipt to show who did the work, in my opinion it DOES add value to the gun, however it does not add full value of the work done.

I should have been a bit more careful when I wrote my last post regarding production. It seems like FN still makes them periodically and imports via Browning. They didn't completely stop the production, but cut it down way below what used to be. Kind of like HK Mk23. Hopefully this increase in price will come down in about 3-5 years.

For a couple reasons:

-It's not original.
-It's been customized in a very specific manner.
-It's missing original parts.
-It has no box, or papers.
-It's overpriced in a slow market.

Sadly, the customizations are only of value to someone who wants a BHP with that work done to it. It's not an automatic price bump if your gun was smithed like that, especially with a barrel exchange like this has had.

I think Leelaw hit it on the head. I'm a big HP fan (I own several) but the sights on that HP would automatically make it a no-go for me unless you were practically giving it away. If it had fixed combat sights, I would have at least sent you an offer.
