Why no interest in this Browning?

This is not a sales tactic. I am genuinely curious why I have received no interest in my BHP? Same results on other forums.

I wouldn't pay 1k for 9m anywhere. I'd be looking at a nice single stack .45 for that dollar amount.

It's a beautiful gun. No doubt it is worth what you are asking. To the right person.

There must be HP forums somewhere.

It's very difficult to get much of your money back when you customize a weapon.

When most people can get a XD, Glock, or other very reliable 9mm in new condition for half the price of a used HP, they just will go with a newer model.

I wouldn't mind having a HP, but it's no where near the top of my list, and not for $1,000 either.

Anyway, like TKM said, good luck. Perhaps a local consignment shop where someone can hold it and get a good feel for it.

HP's value is limit to it's collector. I know a seller whose selling a .30 Luger Browning Hi Power at a fair price, yet no one appear wish to pay for it.

I seriously looked at your ad, i've been thinking about getting one for a while and being local it really peaked my interest....and only because you asked .....without the original box/barrel etc and being of a later vintage, it loses value rather quickly. That said, it sure is pretty and i bet giving it some time and perhaps significantly reevaluating your asking price you'll likely get some bites.

The money spent on the customizing is not of any value to a buyer and you shouldn't expect to get that portion back when you sell it.

For reference, my friend recently bought a 60's erra Belgium made HP for $650.It's nicer, slicker, smoother and more reliable than his new HP.

I suggest reducing your price in $100 increments until you sell it if you need to sell it. If that hurts too much then hang on to it.

I concur. It's also an unusual hybrid between a collectible and a race gun. Definitely takes a unique buyer.

You know, as an old gun guy, the Browning P35/Hi Power is one of the all time classics (I still have 2)---however I am seeing guys trying to sell mint used P35 pistols for $850 (MK 111)---IMO, this is simply too high---they are $600 guns at best---then you see the same ads running week after week---no go---priced too high! Now granted, you P35 has some very nice mods by a name guy, still thats a lot of dough---just like the real estate market, the Obama sales run has toned down (until he or one of his buddies says something stupid about banning guns) and its back to a buyers market. Good luck, it looks like a really nice gun.

The mods add virtually no value. The way its built is very specific. Original parts are missing. Its just not "cool" to a majority of gun owners. You can buy two used Glocks for a grand.
