Tec-9's.... would you?

I have a guy at work who has a Tec-9. Said he bought it 20 years ago because he thought it was cool. Shot a couple mags through it and it's been in storage ever since. He wants to sell it for $300 to me.

Is it worth the $300? Gun looks brand new and said it was "cleaned up" by a gunsmith so it shoots well.

Do they make 10-rnd magazines for TEC-9s? My friend has one. It basically has to be buried with him. Not to mention, it has to be the gun most prone to jamming I have ever have the displeasure of firing. Not understating, it literally jammed every third shot. You probably wouldn't want it anyway, unless you just wanted a collector's piece.

$300 yes, I really don't like those type of guns unless they are full auto. But $300 is a steal.

full auto, is where the tec-9s get bad names from....they suck on FA.

There is another mfg that makes a very similar gun to a tec-9 (the name escapes me at the moment).....it works far better FA vs. a tec-9

I had a semi-auto Tec DC9 back in the day. Hated it! What a piece of carp, total jam-o-matic. I was so happy to have sold it off.

As the others have said though, the real Tec-9 is banned by name so can not be legally transfer within the state(assuming that you live in CA of course.)

I had a Tech .22 back in the day that used to jam up quite a bit. A little time with a triangular file and it was good as gold...

If it isn't the one on the banned list, then hell yeah. If it is then I'd never mention that thing again on any public web forum... Felonies kinda suck when they are broadcast in the public.

Not only is it a named AW, but the things never worked well.

The original Interdynamics pieces made in Sweden were a whole different deal, but I wouldn't take a TEC even if they weren't on the named list.
