I want one but I have to see them in person first. I'm not about to put a non-refundable deposit down on one when I know they had to do a bunch of stuff to them to get them on roster. I want to see how the safety, LCI, and everything else looks on them first haha.

                      ^^looks cool, is it compensated?

Also, what is the allure of the VP9? I was checking it out on handgun hero yesterday and it seems to be the same size as the Glock 19, but with less capacity. Just something different for HK lovers or glock haters? maybe the grip angle is better?

Lastly, I see that they have are using the extractor(?) as the LCI. Couldn't glock do something similar? When the chamber is loaded the little piece sticks out further than when unloaded...

For an LCI to be a CLI (notice the spelling) the words have to be there, too. Hk has the words “Loaded when out” as you can see. They even wrote it TWICE for extra redundancy and visibility, just in case the labs certifying guns for the roster missed it the first time.

Glock certainly CAN do something similar, because yes, they do have an LCI extractor in some models, especially the ones sold in CA.

However, Glock has already stated they will not make any guns to comply with CLI (notice the spelling) and MDM (magazine disconnect mechanism) requirements to put their newer models on the CA roster.

The "allure" is the VP9 is one of the finest polymer framed striker-fired pistols in production except for the Walther. It's incredibly accurate, exceptionally ergonomic, has a superb trigger and shoots like a friggin laser beam. I love Glocks, but I have to admit the VP9 is superior in every way except the cost of extra mags.

Even though HK might disagree with me, I see the VP9 as a "crossover" size pistol with a compact length barrel (around 4") and full-size grip ala the Glock 45/19x and P320 X-Carry/M18. When the VP9 first came out, the magazines were 15rds, but since then HK has updated the standard magazine capacity to 17rds, which is the same as a full size Glock magazine.

About the CLI, that's what CA DOJ calls it, not an LCI. Anyway, according to AmmoBros, HK was able to get their design approved but that was 9mos ago and since then, CA DOJ has changed their policy and have denied applications from other makers with the same style of CLI. Word online is CA DOJ now wants the writing to be a really big.

                              Glock so silly
They will add manual thumb safeties to Glocks for Asian markets, make a blowback Glock 25 for Mexico, and come up with a funky rotating barrel Glock 46 for a couple thousand sales in Germany, but they won't add a mag disconnect and scratch large annoying text on the slide of their most desired models so that the big *** California gun market can have access to newer guns.
