OP so what is wrong with your SP01's slide?

If cosmetic, get it cerakoted
If mechanical, just replace broken or worn parts...

If you are a flipper, you should know what happens when frame and slide have mismatched serial #

My buddy had to go through Colt's FFL approval process to purchase a CZ rifle. He made it sound like Colt did the buying.

Nope all Colts will come with a heavy Eastern European accent from now on.

Had it milled for optics but the gunsmith messed it up.

Cant the machinist just laser weld it to add back material and then mill it again? You may have to refinish the slide but any competent machine shop should be able to do laser welding.

I guess, but I figured it was better at this point to just get a new slide. However, surprise, CZ doesn't sell slides even if I ship the gun to them to have them install it.
So if something happens to a CZ slide the whole gun is pretty much toast?

CZ Custom sometimes has used or new slides. I bought a complete top end from them, the Bull Shadow model. It can be fit to most models, some don't require fitting. I also bought a used top end complete for a tAcSport a while back, so CZ stuff does come up at times.
I own a machine shop. I'd be interested int taking a look at it. There's a chance I could save it, depending on how bad and exactly how it was damaged.
The poster above saying "any competent machine shop could laser weld it" isn't accurate. Laser welding is a specialty, and most machine shops don't do laser welding in my experience. I was a welding inspector at General Dynamics long ago, including laser welding, so I know a little about it.
My shop doesn't do welding, just machining. I have several CNC mills. I made a lot of red dot adapters, most of them sold under other names, again quite a few years ago. I'm looking at making adapters for the CZ Shadow 2, and something similar might be useful for the SP01. Shoot me a p.m. if you want me to look at it.

^^This. I have five and one under construction CZ frames with different uppers. One SP01, One 75b and four 75b SA frames. Just have patience and keep looking here and on the CZ forum for one for sale or as said contact CZ Custom and get something else you might like.

Unlike some modern striker pistols, CZ75 style pistols require some degree of slide and frame fitting

Not sure how much fitting is required, but individual Shadow2 slides are available from CGW. https://cajungunworks.com/product-category/slides/
