    Biometrics? Here we go again...

To put today’s announcement that Biofire Technologies is finally raising the curtain on the Biofire Smart Gun into context, you have to dial the Wayback Machine all the way back to 2014. That’s when we first noted the news that a bunch of Silicon Valley tech types had cut a kid named Kai Kloepfer a ... Read more

I would like to see Bidens military or Federal Police adopt this before I would even remotely consider something like this.

heralds the dawn of “a new era in firearm safety driven by ambition (meth) and optimism (unicorns are real).”
So crank and unicorn farts is what we're betting our sack on now?

      No thanks.

And it looks like it's time to unsubscribe from Forgotten Weapons - He has revealed himself to be the hippie you always knew he was...

"The Biofire Smart Gun shoots like a gun?there?s no delay. If it weren?t for the futuristic look, you wouldn?t know that it isn?t just a regular mechanical pistol,? said Ian McCollum, the firearm technical expert behind Forgotten Weapons, a YouTube channel with 2.5M subscribers. ?That?s very appealing to people interested in a home defense firearm, which is a significant market segment. I?ve come away from the opportunity to fire the gun myself pretty excited and impressed by the system?so far, Biofire has done it right.?
Look at all the moronic sycophant comments to his video

These people have no idea they are opening Pandora's box.

I will never watch one of this idiot's videos again. He's dead to me. Someone must have given him a world class bj for this endorsement. He calls it "100% reliable".

When they make a gun like this, I?ll be interested in biometrics. Otherwise, no thanks.

              From the OP article...

...The Biofire Smart Gun has been undergoing extensive durability and live-fire performance tests to optimize for manufacturing, so final specifications are subject to change...
Give 'em at least... ... to smooth out the bugs and I'll look at it before thoroughly rejecting it as one of my options.

I am only interesting in one item right now-who is shooting range give them time and ability to test that POS? Everything else is so obvious, but range-is really interesting. We need to "cancel" it as we did with Armatrix or whatever name was for that crap.
Next will be-who will try to sell it-we need to protest in front of that shop.

So this allegedly perfect gun to solve the gun problem (yeah that thingy) comes out at this particular time.

Somebody is either a marketing genius or full of crap-which is usually the same thing.

Probably as a collectors' item. It will never be used. It will just sit behind a glass display case where a wealthy buyer will brag about owning an obscure piece of firearms history.

It will be expensive, unreliable, and battery dependent. Only rich white liberals will buy one.

No poor people or criminals will buy one, so how many children will actually be saved? How many rich white liberal kids shoot themselves accidentally every year? Zero?

I don't want a gun that's so smart it has to think about working. I want one so dumb it does just what I want when I want it to.
