Considering it can play out one of two ways:

      a) just Microstamping is gone, which basically warps us back to 2006. CA won't be in a hurry to pass new legislation, since there's a solid history from 2006 of how many guns made it to the roster from 2006 - 2013; which is not many. As much as this sounds the less desirable of the two given oresults, after you read below, you might reconsider,.

      b) LCI, MDM, 3-1, Microstamping are all gone. CA will probably get steppin' to enact new gun control legislation as fast as possible, as manufacturers race to submit as many guns as they can onto the roster, which will grow from currently, a few hundred to thousands in a month. Don't worry if you can't think of what they'll come up with, they will. Since the legislation will take time to go through, we may end up with something like Freedom Month, or hopefully (and this is a stretch, really) Freedom YEAR at best.

Make sure you got a list of guns you want to buy ready, you might not have much time to get it, considering the short period, and the amount of other Californians wanting those guns too. To give you an idea of demand, look no further than the CA-320. The local Turners has a backlog of 400-500, and they only get about 3-5 per week to fill that demand. Now blow that up by 100x and you get the idea. Guns aren't made in the same production capacity as family SUV's, at least not for the common man.

The liberal crowd is not going to be happy at all with b) as they see it as a loss, they will take it personally and come back with a vengeance. Unfortunately, they make a majority of the voting public in this state, so......

There won't be a freedom week.

As for the 1 in 30. Exempt yourself. That way when new guns start hitting the roster you can buy as many as your wallet will let you.
        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

This made me laugh. Very pithy and true.

I would hope manufacturers/distributors would prioritize California like many vendors did during freedom week. I think they all know how much will be made from the increase of sales to the 5th largest economy in the world.

We would also be able to do interstate transfers for formerly off roster handguns as well.

Even with the utter garbage restrictions we have now, CA ranks third in most handguns sold in the US, behind Texas (no surprise there!) and FL. Following closely in fourth place is Pennsylvania. Really drives the point home that restrictions do nothing to curb gun purchases. If someone was prevented from buying a non-roster gun, they'd walk out of the store with a roster gun instead, rather than go home empty-handed.

Gun sales fell to 16.1M in 2024, a 3.4% drop from 2023. Wyoming led per capita sales, while Washington saw a 45.7% decline due to new legislation.

Short answer is yes, gun manufacturers & distributors like money, so there would be a good case where they'd allocate R&D to comply with the (possibly changed) laws and get those guns on roster. I'm willing to bet Glock would paint their LCI's red, stick the words loaded when red showing on the slide, design in an MDM, to sell G5's in CA.

I?m pretty sure that has something to do with having 40,000,000 people in our state

I?m not sure where you?re at, but here in San Diego, I see the FA CA320 sitting on shelves. I was able to pick one up, thankfully. I guess the demand for this particular pistol isn?t as high as it was.

I?ll be ordering all the fun stuff when I can, if this ever comes to light.

Just to "ditto" what you said. Riflegear has "more than 10" in stock. At $855, I'll pass for now. Mostly because i have a 320 from the prior SSE days (or was that daze). Granted, it's far cheaper to get an FA one than a Sig one PPT these days (or is that daze!).
