EZ is the reason. I've been carrying for nearly 60 years, and obvioiusly I'm older now. Medical issues and arthritis have weakened my hands to the point i can't manipulate my Beretta 92FS, and I sold my H&K USP Compact .45 for tha same reason.

I've test fired the previous EZ models and was able to manipulate and fire them with good results. I'm not ready to be a victim yet, so I'm looking for one of these I can buy in California I'm too old to move.

      Looks interesting.
Waiting to see one in person.

FN claims their new hammer fired Reflex micro subcompact is easy to rack. If so, it might also be an option for a woman's carry gun. Supposedly it also has a very nice 4.5 pound trigger.

the longer slide suggests to me this is marketed towards people out in the red states and maybe the colder states who can carry owb 3 o clock under a jacket without worry, and who might desire the ez feature set.

I own a first gen Shield and. Equalizer I paid $299 for the Shield and $450 for the Equalizer brand new at a Gun show new in box. Last month .

The Equalizer stack and half mag gives a 15 rd mag the 13 and if you want a smaller grip 10. It's a great carry weapon and shoots awesome. Here's a pic of the Shield on top of Equilzer. Shield with 8 rd mag and Equilzer with 15rd mag.

I have yet to put a red dot on the Equalizer doubt I ever will.
Usually conceal carry the Sheild with a Clip draw. When we are out and about and wearing a moisture wicking shirt that is very lite. The Equalizer I carry in my Motorcycle Jacket or vest.
The easy rack slide on Equalizer is way nicer than. The Gen one Shield by far.

I don't know if it was mentioned in this thread already, but the equalizer 15rd 9mm mag fits into the 9mm Shield Plus as well.
My shield plus offers me 3 different sizes based on which mag I choose.
10rd mag is a little small without any room for the pinky finger.
13rd mag gets your pinky finger on the grip and is my overall pick.
15rd mag gets you more room than you need for the pinky finger but also 2 more rounds.

Looks nice! but I have a feeling this is another 2020s tacticool compact to follow the trend. Just like how Savage Arms is known for its great rifles, but this trend was even able to get them to come out with their first pistol in a century.

Shield plus is basically the same size as your first gen shield and will hold 10, 13 or 15 rounds of 9mm depending on which mag you use.
The equalizer and shield plus use the same mags.
